Takito joined them because he don't want to leave his friends behind, even if he's the only kid in the group that doesn't have any problem with adults like Rena when she solved her problem with her mother but refused to leave early because her friends are still holding out there in the abandoned hotel. Even as comic relief, he has his own moments and helps the group sometimes. Boring compared to other side males, yes, but that doesn't make him less likeable in his own way. Better than being completely useless comic relief character.
