Sup /jp/. I thought you might appreciate this. Live webcam of Aizu-wakamatsu Train station. Good quality picture and great quality sound. Its just starting to build up to rush hour now in Japan, soon it will be pretty busy. a little bit quiet now maybe because its the weekend.

I've been watching this cam for nearly a year now. Its awesome to just observe people going to work/school or wherever, also watching the different types of trains that pull in and sometimes you get really rare ones!

You can listen to the voice of the passenger, and seen to the behavior of the conductor is only Aizu-Wakamatsu Station among Japan.
If there is a webcam on the platform of Shinjuku station, I want to see.

FFmpeg, and this issue isn't only with the Aizu-Wakamatsu station webcam but also with other webcams. I think that someone is trying to stop people from recording streams for more than 3~5 minutes... sad thing...

JR Banetsu west line uses the track seen in the webcam, the line is split in half.
Aizuwakamatsu is a terminus and reversal station on one side and a through station on the other.
Basically on the webcam, left track is banetsu for Niitsu and Niigata, on the right is banetsu for Koriyama.
The other platforms to the left (can't be seen on webcam) is for the Tadami line and Aizu Railway Aizu line. (they both terminate at Aizuwakamatsu)

Yeah I'm more in favor of the generalist approach to webcams as opposed to a single webcam. Because quite frankly and I've been exploring HEAPS of other jp webcams none of them are as good as this one. Also who knows, by doing this and sharing we may come across a webcams that is as good as Aizu. Or they revive Aizu in the future and if they do that let's be honest how many of us will know right away without a resource like these threads.

You could hardly see anything at night in Aizu either, once the lights were off. But I think that's why some are saying we should have a webcam general with a few other high quality streams, watch the station by day, Shibuya by night or something.

Yeah it was organic as far as I'm aware.

Basically before the /jp/-/a/ split, old school /a/ used to have live webcam threads, nicodouga threads and of course 2hu threads. And from the webcam threads this Aizu camera was the most prominent and so when the other cameras died and after the 2 boards split, this Aizu cam eventually and organically got its own thread - and became dedicated over time with more and more regular posters. All the more reason its so sad this has ended. Literally /jp/ history with old school /a/ roots. Plus I think the fact that densha otakudom is the most "dangerous" and stereotypical had something to do with it. Pic related.

At least this is my hazy combined recollection and understanding of this history.

I personally agree and think Yunokami Onsen is much more comfy but many on this board have a fond memory of the Aizu station. Many here were dedicated followers of the Aizu station webcam before it was decommissioned

that's pretty interesting. Is it just about braving the cold until you can get into the hot water? I suppose your head would get cold unless you keep submerging while in the water.

The threads started off by watching 会津若松駅 / Aizu-Wakamatsu Station (webm related), but the webcam was turned off, so 湯野上温泉駅 / Yunokami-Onsen Station became the next choice.
