Most of the villagers hide themselves or ducked away, a few winced at the unsightly comments, but a scant smaller group, one of which I took careful note, nodded slightly in agreement. Of course, the Youkai present where just thrilled at the potential of witnessing a human brawl, a surprisingly rare sight nowadays.

"I mean, why else would you be bedding with that Amanojaku wretch huh? Become a little pet of that harlot because playing negotiator and businessman for monsters wasn't doing it for you anymore?" The man laughed, making steps toward Goro.

I could tell what was going on now. The loudmouth fool was trying to goad Goro into attacking him, and by the twitch in Goro's muscles, I could tell he wasn't too far off now. But that was unimportant, because already I could feel the rage building in me and my squad's eyes. Worthy or not, such fragrant acts of disrespect towards our charge would not be tolerated. So again, I made ready, this time going so far as to place my hand on the hilt of my blade.

And again, Goro clicked his tongue and held his chin in his hand.

"Tread lightly my friend. You're setting a poor example for the next generation you know." Goro proffered.

"Ha, 'tread lightly' he says!" the man steps forward yet again, to the extent where I'm not sure I could get a clean cut in. "Let me tell you something, this village is fulla Youkai whore's now, just like all your little friends here. And one day if I live long enough to see it..." the man says, lowering his voice to a whisper "...we'll see all those little half-Youkai bastards of yours on bamboo shoots."

To onlookers, the "One-Inch Punch" seems like a magical act, and although it could be explained with the simplest of physics, I must admit watching it actually performed had an allure to it. That, and the mechanical cruelty of Goro twisting his thumb up into the man's rib cage was a particular flourish I've never heard of.

As the man fell backwards to the ground a puddle of crimson red sprayed and flowed onto the streets and his body went lifeless and cold. A woman in the crowd screamed at the sight, someone shouted 'murderer!', a few Youkai cackled in delight, and Goro, Goro waved the mans shirt, pinched by two fingers in the air, his grin wide enough to be the envy of Buddha.

I turned to the corpse finding instead that, at it's center something blue and stained red weaseled it's way out of the clothing. It was a Kappa, struggling to unbuckle some gear and free herself from some leaking red bags and herbs.

'crap.' she said aloud, before slamming a button on her belt, summoning a set of mechanical arms that quickly shredded the clothing and nimbly allowed her to start running.

I make ready to chase, but before I'm able Goro clicks his tongue.

"You." he points to a single squad-mate. "Give chase and monitor her, but don't follow into the village or any caves. You three." he continues waving to three other wolves. "Check anyone who you don't recognize as a regular. You" he points to the youngest squad member "Alert the reserves, they may be trying to bait our forces away for some other ploy, we need a complete perimeter check now."

Each White Wolf nods without question and immediately makes for their orders without question. I feel a small swell of pride at this, that their feelings hadn't impeded their loyalty, but quickly snuff it. There was work to be done. I make to Goro, who's already fishing through the disguise and the strange equipment the Kappa was carrying around.

"A smear job." Goro stated, picking up a burst blood bag from the clothes. "Pretty typical Youkai plot. Guy gets my goat, I 'kill' him, get embroiled in a whole arrest, and even if my name is cleared our reputation still suffers. I'll give em' a few points for the blood bag, that was a nice touch, but they could've kidnapped and imitated an ACTUAL belligerent if they wanted to fool me and make the charges stick. Alright I'll try to quickly run down some important mechanics, but there is a lot to learn so keep in mind the best way is just figuring it out yourself or asking specific questions.
Weaknesses are very important, more than just for extra damage. If an enemy hits a weakness on your turn, they get One-More, which is just an extra turn that phase on top of the extra damage from the attack itself so keep an eye on who's weak to what when fighting a boss. If (you) hit a weakness it activates Demon Co-op, which keeping it brief is an extra automatic attack that combines the strength of most if not all of your team into one strong attack and also increases loyalty gain at the end of the fight. Generally if you want someone to join a demon co-op, they need to either be fallen or the same alignment as you.
Alignments in SMT arent the same as DnD alignments. Law is believing in Order and Safety over Freedom and Freewill usually led by Angels, Chaos is the opposite and led by demons, and Neutral is less a middle ground and more "Fuck all of you equally, we can handle ourselves" led by humanity. If you kill demons you encounter that you have copies of on your comp, it gives you Chaos points and if you talk to them so they leave the fight you get Law. Works like scale so if you want neutral and your chaos, spare some demons and you'll crawl to neutral. Light/Neutral/Dark are confusing depending on who you ask, but in eraMegaten it symbolizes your intentions. Light means good, Dark is bad, Neutral is somewhere in the middle. Certain endings require certain alignments, but for the most part just go with what you genuinely believe in.
Make sure you read exactly what the stats do, and keep in mind on a Summoner the Magic stat is completely worthless as Summoners cannot use magic, they should focus on either Str+End or Int+Agi+Luck for Strength and Gun builds respectively

As per the JP wiki and with Untrained Fall turned on, it depends on the alignment difference between (You) and the target. If alignment differences were numerical (N/N->N/N = 0, L/N->N/N = 1, etc.):
0: 40,000 (32,000) / 1: 60,000 (48,000) / 2: 80,000 (64,000) / 3: 100,000 (80,000) / 4: 120,000 (96,000)

Note that the brackets are the Loyalty required if (You) have the Mysterious Charm trait. So if you are N/N, the most Loyalty required will be 80,000 (64,000) as someone L/L or D/C is '+2', while if you were L/L and the target is D/C, the Loyalty required will be 120,000 (96,000) due to the difference of '+4'. If you want a super easy way to mindlessly grind Loyalty and can easily meet the requirements, I recommend the 'Isora Zone' of Ginza Great Underpass - the 'Isora Zone' is a specific area where nothing but Isoras spawn in that dungeon, with no demon variations. All you need are weak single-hit Fire and Electric skills, or among humans (and specific 'demons' that can equip human weapons, like Akechi Homura from Madoka), to do as many CO-OPs as you can per battle. If your characters are too strong to not one-shot them, you could always raise the Combat Enhancement values to raise their level/HP, but it does sometimes give them Null/Refl to Fire/Elec. As a side note, even if you were to grind the Loyalty required to hit Sworn Friend right away (e.g. from 0 Loyalty), it will progress to Trust at the end of the day before moving on to Sworn Friend the next day. No cheating by skipping steps in friendship!

For Trust/Sworn Friend purposes, if the target is the opposite sex, they typically get Affection instead, and the Loyalty required is lower than what is required for Trust (about 1/3 less). But if you achieve enough Loyalty required to get Trust instead and have Trust Fall activated, sometimes the game can get 'confused' and assign both Trust and Affection to them at the same time, causing them to get both the Trust and Affection end of the day messages, and while showing up in [301]Check Status with 'Affe', they count as a Trust Fall, not an Affection Fall, for the purposes of your MC's Total Trust/Loving Chars page. Even if you Train them afterwards to remove 'Trust', it won't count as an Affection Fall. Note that since they still have Affection, you can do housework/singing training on them (at the cost of Trust after).

Oh yeah, when I say 'Neutral' I meant in the 'Law-Chaos' spectrum. You could be N/N or even D/N and still get that end, because the Law-Chaos spectrum is more on whether your thoughts align closer to the Messians or the Gaeans, while the Light-Dark spectrum is more about your 'personality'. The only time where whether you're Light or Dark is probably after you rescue Kikue (so long as she hasn't gone full corrupted), where if you were Dark when you go to the dungeon to meet up with her conspirators, they might not let you help them? Light is required to have (pure or mostly intact) Kikue join you after the rescue.

Note for the Watchtower Assault request if you bring Kikue with you: If you choose to check up on her after beating the hypnosis machine, you'll be presented with three options - first one makes her lose her virginity (regardless of whether (You) actually have a penis or not), but the second option of 'talking her out of it' will initialise her Loyalty to 1000, regardless of where it was before. I have never picked the third option because (intact) Kikue is too cute to punch the shit out of.

tldr; if you are Loyalty grinding Kikue but don't want to make her lose virginity (if she still is) or don't want to hit her, choose anything but checking up on her following the Watchtower Assault to avoid the choices
