Not publicizing their private life isn't necessarily the same as pandering to people who care about their private life. However, Hololive's appeal is already big enough that even if they would definitely feel the blow, Cover would not go under. Vtubers are mainstream now. They have millions of followers and most of them have subscribed due to the mass exposure resulted from corona and other lucky coincidences. And at this point they probably can outspend the hardcore gachi crowd, as its size has mostly remained the same.

This company was nothing before gen 3, 4 and 5 heavily leaned into gachikoi pandering.
They might want to try to grab a new audience but it won't work. You can't merge otaku fanbases with mainstream normalfags and expect results. That might be why the new gen is under DEV_IS or whatever the fuck. Complete segregation for the eventuality of something going wrong.

Is it that hard to understand that the problem isn't her playing games off stream? The problem is her hiding those games while pandering to gachikoi.
