I’m pretty sure this is a recurring incident. Also another issue is that people tend (at least some) to defend themselves how it’s okay wherever they live in. I understand why people would defend themselves. However, we, as a receiver of the slur, really, really, really don’t care if it’s okay in your country/region, as seen and/or suggested in the replies. At least, I would much rather hear something like “I’m sorry I didn’t know, I’ll never use it again”, or something like that. Isn’t that how one should react after offending someone, in general? No?
For example, I would apologize if I said something like I need a Flute, a Clarinet, and a Faggot for the trio and someone pointed out I was using a slur and should’ve used “bassoon”. I’m not going to start holding my ground saying that’s how it’s supposed to be called in Europe. I’m going to apologize, only then I might say why I made the mistake, how in Japan it’s ファゴット from Italian.

As such, I wonder if the mods can cook up a bot to prevent posts with the slur to get turned down automatically, with perhaps some links explaining why it’s a slur? It’s extremely frustrating to see my people respond while upset, then get downvoted for the attitude. All the while the defenders don’t necessarily sound remorseful/apologetic, but not much downvotes for that.
It’s also toxic that many of our people has come in to say similar things and the whole place turned ugly. I’m probably on the toxic side at this point, but I’d rather defend this point than stay silent, so whatever lol
