Really? Maybe on a hardcore level I guess. At a casual glance it seems to be much more like most 2D fighters than either IaMP or Hisoutensoku, for example. The homing dash is the main thing that stands out.

Now that I think about it, Touhou aside, how popular or obscure are/were the real Moriyashin and Yasakatome-no-kami?

"Real" legends are transported to Gensokyo when people stop believing, but what happens to Gods who can no longer gather any faith in Gensokyo? Do they simply fade from existence? Get sent back to the "real" world? Portaled to yet another dimension?

Or do they simply lose their divinity and become a boring person?

But it does seem like a valid point of debate whether Shirou's pursuit of selflessness is truly unselfish, or if it's just to make himself feel like a hero. In fact, it's relevant in real life.

One may go to war wishing to be a great hero and put their lives on the line. He or she is selfless and GAR and whatnot and willing to die for the country. But his selflessness would bring pain to his family, friends, and loved ones. Would that not then make it simultaneously somewhat selfish?

Well, this confirms it's at least partly targeted towards the VN fans and not just the DEEN anime fans who think Rider sucks and Sakura is some irrelevant muggle next door

I couldn't really laugh though, treating Sakura's rape as comedy just struck too deep a nerve

Yep, not going to lie, I did screw that up. Shouldn't have stared at Shirou so intently after rewatching the "people die" clip on YouTube.

Most tier forge materials only drop in one or two stages. For example, the peaches are only in the Netherworld. Drop rates tend to be around 4-10% per enemy that drops it, though some enemies have much lower chances.

Character specific materials, on the other hand, simply are not meant to be gotten as drops except through very high luck. You're meant to make do with what you're given; according to the manual character weapons are meant to be flat out the best option but restrained by limited character materials. You have to make choices on what to make and not make, and that's why you'd constantly switch back to regular weapons for many characters once current weapons become outdated. Drop rate is 0.1% this early in the game.

You get them much easier in the expansion.

Even with over a hundred contestants, the rest of the Madoka cast dominated SaiMoe as expected. Every one of them made the final bracket. Meanwhile, Homura, quite arguably the main character (with Madoka as supporting protagonist) lost in the very first round, even though she was seemingly the most popular character with the fandom and a high favorite to win it all.
