While Keine isn't a cow, cows with nutritional imbalance do actually eat cadaver - or whatever else they can find - to rebalance, human corpses included. However, they aren't predators, so while there are occasions when cows have an interest in and valid reason to eat humans they are still poorly suited and dispositioned for hunting and killing us.

Also the hakutaku appears to be semi-cannibalistic, since among the knowledge it bestows to a promising emperor is knowing which youkai are good to eat.

I wouldn't mind seeing an origin story doujin for Keine, involving loli Keine being attacked by a hakutaku and going through her first few monthly transformations and maybe meeting Mokou or something.

I was under the impression "hakutakuanthropy" was transmitted upon the death of a previous hakutaku.

One among many fan theories since there is no canon explanation how Keine got the mooncrazies.
