I live not only in England, but in the North of England. After we outsourced all of our manufacturing to China, the government had to step in to prevent mass unemployment. Somewhere around 60% of people around here are employed by the government.

There's very little where I live (Leeds) beyond services for those people, and financial institutions. I have been applying for anything I think I might qualify for; that is mainly the minimum wage jobs you mention. The local government isn't hiring and will soon be making massive cutbacks. Local unemployment is 10%, I believe (no source, just something I rember hearing) and it's only so low because it's being propped up by the government.

See, that's what I thought, but it turns out volunteering is competitive as hell too. All the high school and university students have cottoned on to the fact that they're not going to get hired without experience so they have also filled voluntary positions. The only volunteering opportunities I've been able to find required degrees (they were apprenticeships to do stuff like accounting).

4.We condense our threads. Touhou stays with Touhou. Idols stay in idol threads. So on and so forth.

I never implemented a tag system since I can't be sure it would be portable. I use a complex system of folders that fails to be only any more specific than it already is and has to be sorted manually. At the moment, I am conflicted about whether to save images directly into my backup or locally and then move them to my backup only when it takes up too much local space.

My Touhou folders are most organized.
\Touhou\ --> ( \Animated\, \Gensokyo\, \Group\, \Manga\, \Replies\ )

\Animated\ is animated GIF files exclusively.
\Group\ is a global folder than includes all images that can not be neatly sorted into \Gensokyo\ subfolders.
\Manga\ has two subfolders: \Individual\ and \Complete\, and \Complete\ has \Clean\ and \Ero\, though most of my manga is moved directly to my backup for space concerns.
\Replies\ is image replies.

\Gensokyo\ is organized first into folders for \location\. \location\ folders are then subdivided into \character\, \common pairing\, \location group\, and sometimes \Surviving [character]\.

For example:
\Scarlet Devil mansion\
- \China&Sakuya\
- \Flandre&Remilia\
- \Hong Meiling (China)\
- \Izayoi Sakuya\
- \Knowledge Patchouli (w Koakuma)\
- \Scarlet Flandre\
- \Scarlet Remilia\
- \Surviving Flandre\

Other series I save have similar folder construction.
