Given that monsters don't die in new-hugbox MGE there's no reason they aren't still around in large numbers.

MGE doesn't want things to be better, it already has things as perfect. Although it's become increasingly muddied where KC hugbox and fandom hugbox intersect but I am relatively certain at least he'd be absolutely against the idea of portraying monster girls as anything but idealized perfection with their worst character flaw being they are too in love with you(at least until they have sex with you, when it become less obsessive pure love).
