well matt's opposition to mcd's was not that khatz was promoting something he didn't do, but that he was promoting and selling something that didn't work. and maybe he still is selling them idk. but matt promoted stuff he thought would work, and for free. he has changed his mind on some of them though.

classes, textbooks, rosetta stone or pimsleur were generally considered the best route

you can use sentences or words
people have gotten good with both

the antimoon guys got good at english using fill in the blank as well as word cards they then invented sentence cards after they were already fluent.

khatz and matt used sentence cards to great success.
