A better argument is that since she's a psychic she can defend herself so she does just that, weak and feral youkai don't harm her due to strength and she's too much trouble for the established political factions to do anything about, and the sages don't see her as a threat.
I guess the Tengu, Kappa, or SDM could kill her if they made a concentrated effort, but they don't really have a reason to do so.

anyways what's this I'm hearing about a Virtual Netherworld? I use Mallet Island for my grinding once I jump to level 15. A lot of distinct and easily exploitable weaknesses on the DMC enemies, an understandable progression, saves and times to step out, a LOT of dungeon to explore and get into fights with, as well as restricting when enemies will change and upgrade on you. The only real issue is if you're too weak to take on Doppelganger Virgil, can't deal with Nightmare fast enough, or lack the elemental coverage to deal with some of the lesser enemies that are immune to GUN. it's what I did on my Red Carpet Curse run. It worked startlingly well.

Perhaps you're right, yeah. Kurosawa is something of a mixed bag for me. There are some of his movies that I really enjoyed: License to Live, Bright Future, and Tokyo Sonata. Some were good (Charisma, Doppelganger), some decent (Before We Vanish, Cure, Pulse). And then there's one I fucking hated - Creepy. For me, It's one of the worst japanese movies. Would you say that Penance is more like Bright Future and License to Live, or is it something in the veil of Cure, Retribution? From what I've heard, it looks like Penance is something in the middle, with little bits of this and little bits of that. And what of his other works do you think I should check out, judging by my preferences?

TL;DR: MGs would only reject men in very specific convulted situations like these (of if the MG is married or has a man already in her heart). If such a thing were to happen, MGs, among which there will be doppelgangers, will rush to the rescue of the rejected man.

Aww, our little bunny Sakia has grown up! (quite literally -- "baby" girl shot up like a weed).

She still has her trademark huge front teeth and thick eyebrows so she's not *completely* unrecognizable.

Sakia is still only 14. Some Sakura girls (C-chan, Yuzumi) had stopped growing by that point but others (Mariri, Yunano, Hana, Momoko) hadn't. I wonder if she'll pass 160cm…or better yet hit 162.5cm/5'4" so that she ends up officially taller than Nocchi -- my favorite in Perfume but I really want to see her brain explode when/if she meets her "mini" Doppelganger again…remembering well that 2019 photo where Nocchi kneeling was only slightly shorter than Sakia standing.

A lot can change in four years.
