Ergo, the solution is to ensnare those impetuses in human flesh puppets that will hold them back, or perhaps to impose them on those humans to realize them.
Ergo the issue with Emiya here, is that he may be suffering much more than he even realizes (and in some ways so do all heroic spirits, it's their job to) because his unique conditions in conjunction with unusual nature of the Throne, and as such paradoxical amount of information he, and his larger grander soul of which he is not consciously aware of, receives, causes his soul to suffer much more despair, because his moral ideal by necessity demands him to battle all evils alone, and his soul is likely seen much more terror than any other heroic spirit on Earth bar several human and inhuman entities present on the planet, or tangential to its survival.
His ultimate enemies are enemies of humanity, and are eldritch in nature, including, quite possibly, himself and humanity, because past point of select certainties there are too many enemies to list.

Hence the rusty gears. Even an unyielding idealist can reach a breaking line, as at some point one may question why not simply kill the evil at its source, once and for all.

In some hypotheticals, this is one of the reasons for suffering increase on the planet. Destruction impetus advances by any hole in reality it can find, by any moral connotation and means necessary.
Implementators are irrelevant.
That is what it means to be a Sword, everyone else is just target practice.

... rather not impossibly, the Heroic Spirit's Ego.
Simply put, all the heroes in all ages possess an obvious quality, peculiarity of which is never examined, namely some or many strong character traits. Strong character to save or destroy the world.
The issue here, which in a way is shown through Gil's rejection of divine bridgegap role, is that many heroes are in some ways very frivolous as to their conduct. They, like magi, go where they want and do what they please, deem right or not (regardless whether it is true or not), etc.
They do not do not act like a true Hero of Justice ever would, they don't act like Messiah, they don't walk towards hell.

Issue here then, is that the way Emiya came to be is extremely artificial at some perspective. His entire existence is an allegory for sword making. Or in other words, a ritual, that spanned entire his planet's history and multiple high import entities.
If Shirou is to his CG title employment is what all other heroic spirits to Heroic Spirit as the their generation source, as that Holy Spirit, Shirou then is not mere a faker, either he is an artificial recreation of Holy Spirit itself, with his library rapidly boosted by replicating any thus far crystallized feats and history slices (NPs and spirits themselves), a derailed recreation deliberately weakened, or a magical cybernetic/alchemic attempt to refine Heroic Spirit from its current state to force the Heroic Spirit to do what it was meant to, its eternal duty to battle all evil, in which case Shirou has extra access to it.
In either case, Muramasa's fate cutting sword is no coincidence.
His RM isn't a recreation of toothpicks, it's a backup record, that was created because someone, either in human domain, or in divine, or anywhere else's has decreed that the hero who will battle this hell is necessary, or attempts to break humanity and Alaya by creating divide between its protection systems.

I agree. All of what you say can be applied to any version of Touhou, canon or fanon, cute or grim. It's more about intent and implications.
Maybe this is just duckling syndrome. From games, earlier printworks (except DiPP) and interviews Touhou seemed like a very specific kind of setting, something one of a kind. Even the darker stuff seemed either like "necessary evil", or just shittalking. It felt so refreshing, I've never seen anything like it before. And then I get to FS, it all falls appart, and I've got nothing to fill the hole this made, besides the boring satire that is canon. It's like the setting that I liked never actualy existed.

There isn't a real answer and that's because good/evil are completely different depending on perspective. The Humans may think she is evil since they're the plug to the Youkai life support machine. The Youkai might think poorly of her, but it's a fact that without her many of them would have died out. On the otherhand we don't know a whole lot what the outside world is like and how it compares to ours in the present, but in the future it seems to approach a dystopia with worsening climate and more people are unhappy. Also note that while rare, outsiders do choose to settle in Gensokyo, and Rinnosuke's brief foray into the outside didn't leave him with a good impression and it was completely alien to him. If some outsiders are choosing to stay, then that says a lot about the quality of outside society if there are some people willing to leave it all behind and risk living in a world of actual monsters instead of returning to their own.

I argue that it would be worse for the Humans of Gensokyo if it was torn down and they were sent to the outside world. The culture shock is too much and their skills would not have any worth because who needs a blacksmith or fisherman when it's all handled by industry. Their money is also worthless since I doubt inflation ever took off in Gensokyo due to being a closed loop economy. The highly bureaucratic outside world just rejects them as invalids since they have no paperwork, they simply don't exist and no one—save criminals—will hire a nobody. Simply put they'll be taken advantage of; there's no village to protect them, no shrine maiden, no gods, and the monsters are all hidden on the inside in everyone around you. I've seen the argument about "muh north korea", but can you really say that it's all that bad when most of what you had to worry about was staying healthy, stocking food and wood for winter, and keeping an eye out for dangerous Youkai?

Whether it's Good or Evil, it's necessary that Gensokyo continues to exist for the livelihood of ALL of it's residents, not just Youkai. Yukari isn't good by any means, but if Gensokyo protects all inside then she is there to protect you from everything outside.

Anon, first of all calm your fucking sore tits. I’m the first one who hates valo whores and think they doesn’t belong in hololive.
I’m just giving ayamy the benefit of the doubt because as a small streamer she might feel it’s a necessary evil (I don’t know). What you said about Aki is honestly sad. Seeing that thumbnail yesterday hurt bad. The only thing I can give to her is that she really enjoys ark: she’s 100% percent not playing in the streamer server because she wants dick but because she wants to play ark. I don’t know what’s best for her but as some other anon said when you get numbers because of streamer servers those people aren’t really there for you but because you are an accessory for the server. I don’t know what’s gonna happen from now on but I hope the best to aki.

I view Byakuren as another selfish idealist, but one of those rare people who are capable of meaningfully advancing fields/society.
There's a lot more about abstraction and how a losey analogy(one that's WRONG in certain abstractions) can be very useful, but basically to progress science/math you have to be insane in the eyes of others and break concrete rules, even if it means breaking other proven parts of the system. I know that's basically saying 'mad scientists are mad', but the Scientific method unspoken 'only aggregate proven knowledge' principle leads to evil just as drastic action does.
In Touhou most people have the concrete idea of "Youkai feed on human fear" which implies that their extermination would not only be necessary, but beneficial. Although Byakuren figured it out at first because she didn't want to die, Shou was solid proof that human fear was not a necessary predicate for a Youkai's existence.
When you consider it, she did actually get punished by Karma, stopping Miko's resurrection(essentially sealing her) and then getting sealed herself for a thousand years. Although her biggest fault was NOT showing Shou to others as proof that Youkai were strictly evil, which was a dishonest and evil action.

So, I don't think she was a purely good person and that she definitely let fear and other attachments cloud her judgement, but if Youkai could be enlightened and saved from their evil natures and we didn't do that, we're basically subjugating them out attachment and just as well unenlightened. Of course, you could ask 'would you trade x human lives for x Youkai ones' and there wouldn't be a correct answer since people live and die by circumstance not action, so you disregard lives and make a decision based on faith. but that could just be my Christian faith leaking into Buddhist theory of attachments

I also view 'enlightenment' and 'Godliness' as living the best life possible if that's any help.

Goro became kind of a foil to Hijiri's path since he would have been just fine dying normally, but now that he's cursed and past that his life model has collapsed. So his concrete idea of 'I'll live a full life and die' has been removed from his abstraction and what's left of his character and his experiences up to this point will fill in the blanks.

【Evil Dragon Kingdom】

A dragon kingdom comprised mainly of “dragonewts” and their male human mates headed by a powerful “Malef Dragon”. These dark demon realms have a wicked atmosphere and are considered to be among the most terrifying and dangerous kinds of all by the Order of the Chief God.

The original species of dragons tend to avoid getting involved with humans any more than is necessary, but due to the nature of evil dragons, they tend to take action to usurp control of humans and human states. Human towns and states are often taken over by evil dragons using overwhelming power and become kingdoms where the dragons and their dragonewt minions breed as they desire.

The people of evil dragon kingdoms, whether human or monster, male or female, will be given Malef Dragon blood as proof of subordination to the evil dragon, and all human women will be transformed into “dragonewts”.

Evil dragons and their minions revere “Draco-Mamono Lord Malef”, one of the mamono lords from the era when monsters were monstrous in form, as their progenitor and worship her as a god. On the other hand, in connection with the genealogy of the current mamono lord, they have now taken on the nature of succubae, and yet they are not under the monster lord's command. However, it's not like they are hostile towards the mamono lord. They pretty much have a cooperative relationship. There are still other races of monsters besides dragons among the denizens of evil dragon kingdoms, although they are a minority. As stated previously, even monsters other than dragons are given dragon blood by the Malef Dragon too, and thus they are accepted into the kingdom as minions of the evil dragon.

Monsters given evil dragon blood will have more powerful reproductive urges towards their spouses and at the same time their hearts will be constantly overpowered by the wicked desire to “control their beloved physically and emotionally and breed according to their own urges” just like an evil dragon.

In these kingdoms where dragons rule over humans, all dragons are guaranteed a life where they can satisfy their urge to breed, and men chosen as mates are deemed obligated to fulfill the desires of their dragon spouses. Also, when breeding results in the birth of children, it's one of the most auspicious events: “More dragons in the world means dragons are closer to world domination”, “Many humans will be conquered by the new dragons, and the world of dragon reproduction will expand”. Furthermore, the Malef Dragon reigns as a dignified ruler, yet their rule is extremely lenient.

In addition, whether they were born as monsters or monsterized during the conquest, the evil dragon's minions all view her as a being who protects the people with overwhelming power and guarantees them days of breeding filled with pleasure, so it is said they mostly adore the Malef Dragon.

Surprisingly, a goddess by your side and the strongest goat around still are not enough to deal with certain problems: like being a shikigami. Bound to your master, to never directly disobey. I still can't believe Ranni exchanged life in the Animal Realm for that. Meh, she's lucky she got a good friend backing her up.

Whistling, spork over my shoulder, I walk towards the gate, a redhead almost twice my size sleeping against the wall. Is that supposed to be the gatekeeper? Heh... Filling my lungs, I yell the loudest I can, her eyes jolting open and immediately taking on a fighting stance; I'm laughing out loud. Oh, her face! "What the—who are you?!"

"Sup, came to visit Flandre—blonde, red eyes, maybe death itself?" I explained, the redhead's anger morphing into exasperation. Hm? Wrong place, maybe? "What?"

"Nothing; guess there's a first for everything—Meiling, by the way," she said, taking a small bell from a pocket and ringing it.

"Toute—" A sudden presence pops from thin air by my side, and I jump—What the fuck?! "—...tsu." I finish, giving the teleporting maid a glare.

"Toutetsu, hm?" Meiling says, turning to the maid. "She said she's here for Flandre." Unlike the gatekeeper, the woman raises an eyebrow at my spork, gives me a cold glance, then disappears the next moment. Frowning, I look at Meiling, and she just smiles, getting herself comfortable against the wall. "She's like that—Sakuya, it's her name."

"Fucking bi—"

"—The Mistress will be seeing you now," and the maid is back, trying to scare my heart out of my chest again. I can hear Meiling laughing and, before even a second passes, the whole landscape has changed. What in Hell?! Once the gates of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, now a round room full of toys and—

"It's you, the funny spoon goat girl!" Suddenly, I'm being hugged tightly, a red blur squeezing the life outta me. "I remember our playtime! You got all red, big and had glowing eyes, and there were these hands—" Flandre is laughing like she's remembering the funniest thing ever. Sakuya, on the other end of the room, watched over us like a hawk. "You looked so cool, but also so silly—at least it was fun playtime!"

Not many things leave me reactionless, but this one stripped me bare.

Wide-eyed, I stutter a bit before patting Flande once on the head, trying hard to rebuild my confidence. Not two minutes in, I'm almost regretting this. Almost...

You better not deny me my share of Anon, Ranni; "Yeah... Sup, Flan—it's Toutetsu, though."

"Toutetsu..." She tasted my name, undoing the awkward hug. "Tetsu sounds better, and it's shorter—why did you come to visit me, Tsu? Unlike Sis, I never get visits! You're here to play?" Damn, that's sad, uh...

"You see, Flan, I kinda—" Get your act together, Toutetsu! I take a deep breath, the vampire's red eyes shining with childish menace—but also, unable to escape my perception: hope. Oh? Maybe if I play my cards the right way here... "Want your help with something?" Her multicolored crystal wings dropped a little, face contorting into bad omens. "But! I don't plan to get a favor for free!" Ranni, I want an arm! An entire arm! "I will... p-play with you if you do it for me!"

Like a switch, her face shone bright and her smile was big—a killing intention also disappeared from behind me—Flan's words full of energy; "Yay! Of course, what do you want me to do?!"

Some would consider this an easy trade: some playtime with a kid for immense help... I sometimes wonder if our fight was also playtime.

With my fate sealed and my heart pounding, I take out a few blank cards from my blue skirt, Flan's face taking on a curious tone. 'Course, this is a gamble at heart, and maybe it won't even see any use if things proceed smoothly. If not, which is most likely, a triumph is necessary. "How well can you channel your destruction, Flan?"

"... Channel?" She parrots.

After lengthy explanations and a lot of trial and error, something about everything having an eye and a very excited Flan all the way through, I had in hand a bunch of papers, each imprinted with weird blood patterns, carrying the power of perhaps the strongest being in Gensokyo: The power to destroy anything, even a shikigami's bond... Or so I hope.

I blink, and we are now outside the mansion, the scarlet moon shining over us. Confusedly, I look at Sakuya, a small, elegant smile painting her face. "The mistress did her part of the deal. Now, you do yours."

H-huh?! "Wait, already?! I didn't even—"

Old instincts act, and I jump out of the way of dozens of multicolored laser beams—Sakuya already gone—a cloud of smoke in their wake. Wide-eyed, I look at the origin, the lingering heat burning my skin. Four Flandres, each with a genuine playful smile, not an ounce of evil behind the red of their eyes, only joy; "I've been dying for a good playtime, Tsu!" She laughed, the jewels of her wings shining with raw power.

Besides terror, a grin, readying my spork.

... An arm AND a leg, Ranni!

The first thing was the door and how disgustingly made it was. Yukari is smart, no doubt, but this door... It's like a magical layer upon a thousand other layers, hidden until deemed necessary by some mechanism—magic, too.—This shit is a stroke of genius. The purpose is fucked up, but still, a fortress and a half condensed into 6 pounds of wood, probably extending like a cage around the main attraction.

I got in and looked around, weirded out by how similar it was to the shrine, and—ow, there it was, the dreaded incense, enough to turn a longtime friend into a rapist; or maybe just help them get there? The incense saturates the air, hidden and low, almost mystical in its composition, masking slithering snakes made out of aphrodisiacs and vodka.

It was easy to resist with the taste being similar to shit, and as I made my way inside, a voice reverberated. "Good morning, dear; I'll be with you in a moment!" He said, and the smells of cooking food became more prominent, my stomach growling for some adequate fuel. I entered the shrine and went to the kitchen, not really in the mood to make comparisons with the real shrine.

Anon glanced at me entering, smile tense and spine straight as a rod. Was it the gigantic spork? With the Oni population gossiping and boasting about their times and records with him, it probably wasn't the horns. No, this smell in the air...

Smiling devilish, I sat on the kotatsu, loudly dropping the spork; Anon hiding well his deep breaths to recover. "Sup, Anon! Don't think we ever met, but the sis of a girl your wife beat almost killed me once! Scary little shit that Flandre," he laughed—a sad attempt—and finished the tea.

I look around, narrowing my eyes at the sudden scent of Old Magic, focusing them on the fridge. The next moment, it disappeared.

What th—I frown; isn't Okina...

Hm, must tread carefully.

... Nah.

Anon set two cups on the table and filled them with tea. "T-The food is almost ready, dear. I'll let the broth thicken a little more."

"Stuttering, Anon? Keh-heh-heh... What, am I that scary?" I smiled, sharp teeth bare and eyes wide. He, however, giggled, and I could almost read in his eyes: someone else is much scarier.

"No, dear. If that's your way of asking for a compliment: you have gorgeous teeth," It was a rash change from the nervous cat of just now, and I really couldn't pinpoint the origin. He must be used to staring danger in the face and faking compliments and whatnot.

Though, it feels nice to have something you take so good care of praised. Meh, not horny. Pouting, I drank the tea in one swoop and said, "More." He filled my cup again. "So, Yukari, huh? Raped you in front of your daughter, locked you here, and you're now Gensokyo's fuck-toy—must be hard."

Anon drank a bit of his tea, and I perceived the slightest tremble in his hand.

"Rumors are weird, I suppose. So many lies about Yukari..." It was like he had to sweeten his tongue with tea before saying those words. "No, she never did any of that. I'm here willingly."

Hm...

I have a feeling being straightforward won't help; this needs a bit more trickery; "Oh, I see. Damn, your own daughter is spreading rumors? Perhaps I should've looked for better sourcing." Yukari knows this is a lie, and she probably could've whispered to Anon unnoticed if it wasn’t me, Old Magic adept, here.

Anon went pale and broke for a moment, an infinite weight behind his eyes. "H-Hana said those things?!" He couldn't properly fake disbelief, and it was all I needed to know the truth of 'rumors'. I snorted, disgusted. "She... doesn't like what I'm doing because she believes Reimu doesn't deserve to be redeemed. But to lie like this..."

I nodded sharply. "She told me other things, too."

"What?" He rushedly asked—hook, line, and likely half my arm.

"Nah—all lies, aren't they?" Anon bit his lower lip with his slip. "Perhaps I should've asked someone with more insight, like Chen—"

"Don't bring her into this, please..." There it was: desperation barely hidden. 'Into this', so there is something more happening.

I felt a peak of Old Magic around me. My limit, then—at least for now.

Although the purpose of this entire charade is still blurry and probably will still be for some time, I at least got what I was looking for: something is happening here and Yukari has Anon on a tight leash. Oh, Okina will have fun with this...

"Sure, sure, I won't involve the kitty," I shrugged. "Are ya gonna serve the food anytime soon, Anon?"

Looking like taken out of a stupor, he got up, fixed his clothes, and struggled to plastify a calm and unshaken smile; "Sorry about this, dear, thanks for remembering me!" And he ran up to the stove, my mouth watering with the smells permeating the air.

Damn, Reimu really is a dumbass. If I had a man to cook for me, I wouldn't lay an evil finger on him.

... Maybe some teeth.

I gazed at his nape from the kotatsu, stomach rumbling and drooling. Oh, if I had no morals to upkeep...

It feels like the world is too big yet also too small, if that makes sense. In my first post I mentioned that I sometimes feel like a cat that became more sentient. For whatever reason the moment I try to think of anything that somewhat resembles a collective, like a city, population or state, my head begins to burn after some time and I simply want to get away from it. Yet, just like a cat, I do not want to sit around all day and wish to go on my own little cat adventures. But where do I go?
I'm a loner, there's nothing to argue about that, but I cannot help to desire to be part of something bigger. Perhaps that's an aspect of my old self before everything began to fall down and life became more and more gloomy. Yet when I step out and hear people talk I immediately want to be left alone.
My dreams show me life's that I'd enjoy much more, but it's just dreams, reality is much harsher and different? Not sure how I could explain that. Perhaps I became to accustomed to my dreams and daydreams that reality feels much more uncomfortable and foreign.
Then I also have certain responsibilities I simply never asked for, but am forced to take care of. I can understand that they might be a necessary "evil", like a job, but I really wish I could escape them. I also have a rather clingy mother, which makes it a bit more harder to get out. I'm also most likely a mommy boy I don't hate her and I will take care of her, but I dislike things that bind me someway or another.
I wish I could fall down a well and find myself in a more fantasy-like world, I'd like to simply walk around, collect stuff, have a little fight with some skeleton or miku and then go to sleep.

The concept of original sin was destroyed by Lord Jesus on the Cross
Humanity was given a new slate.
Isn't that understanding of good and evil? Another distinction between man and beast.
Yes, but it should be noted not every human has the same concept of good and evil. Example would be leftists and Conservstives.

There would be feelings but no negative feelings after Ascension and the process of Sanctification or Deification is the means to the ultimate goal of union with God.

This is what has been bothering me with your discussion... My memory is pretty bad so I thought you might know better when they mentioned the difference between good and bad in the bible from human and universal perspectives
>Heaven is part and parcel of deification, the eternal sharing of the divine qualities through communion with the Triune God.
Is that then much different from what that anon talked about?
> a world in which those feelings were not necessary for survival.

>Many Gnostic texts deal not in concepts of sin and repentance, but with illusion and enlightenment.
That's exactly why I think that Marisa fits in that, she would rather try to "outsmart the system" than being a good person.
Didn't knew it was a mix of so many things tho, but I guess stuff tends to mix.

>And an omnicient god gets to decide what is good and evil because... it said so? Sounds like bullshit an evil dictator would say.
Who are you to say otherwise do you know what true good and evil are?
Sounds like your feelings not logic is driving your argument.
>You could say the same about any other word, language doesn't require some divine insight for words to have meanings.
Can you prove otherwise?
>This argument is absurd because if God was truley omnipotent it could simply create a world in which those feelings were not necessary for survival.
Then there wouldn't be humans but robots. this is a very weak statement, because societies and communities are more or less dynamic and so what is good and evil is not the same for all societies/communities
and perhaps for the one god is evil and for another he is good. Even if you say, all humans will call the same actions as good or bad,
we can´t say this about all communities in the universe, because we don´t know them, what kind of beings they are.
And then there is still the problem, that we are not omniscient, and we can´t be sure that there is no universal good and evil (and you know, universal includes the whole universe because god created it) and what is really good and evil.

>calling god evil means only, that according to the agreement of certain communities or societies god is evil and this means nothing if god is omniscient...
And an omnicient god gets to decide what is good and evil because... it said so? Sounds like bullshit an evil dictator would say.
>On the other hand if good and evil are universal terms, we can´t know what good and evil is, unless someone can proof that we have a kind of "insight" to know what really is good and what really is evil
You could say the same about any other word, language doesn't require some divine insight for words to have meanings.
>Feelings have a function, without feelings, there would be no human being on earth, because we were all dead.
>To be able to feel many, many different kinds of pain is something that let us survive. You know, you feel heat, it starts to lightly burn, you feel more heat, the pain increases, and now your reaction is, you draw back your hand from the fire.
This argument is absurd because if God was truley omnipotent it could simply create a world in which those feelings were not necessary for survival.
