The chat replay after streams are missing a lot of messages (even mod messages). Watch a stream with chat on screen, and when a 'hype' or funny moment happens and there is a burst of chat speed. Chat on stream zooms by, but chat replay is 1/4th the speed (even on 'live chat replay').

Youtube chat has been doing that for awhile in VoDs. It was faster live.

Go look at Gura's cookie making stream for another example, she had chat onscreen the whole time and it's zooming while the replay's slow.

Why is the chat replay so fucky? I'm watching Kiara's Sims 4 archive and Huke's and Amelia's messages aren't showing even though the chat is set to "Live chat replay".

Any anons here want to confirm this on their side.

The VOD has a replay of the chat, and just look at it zooming. Then look how fucking slow it is on the chat replay.
I did not watch the live chat much when the stream was live, so can't confirm if it was faster then. But given that the VOD chat is fast as fuck, I'd assume the live chat was as fast when the stream was live too.
Did youtube in these past couple hours just roll in an update to slow the chat?
Someone please confirm the live chat speed on their browser. Both Top and Live replays seem slow.

Rate limit increased and members are more likely to make it through, so even top chat can hit something like 20/s and become completely unreadable.

Strangely enough the VOD replay chat didn't get the increased rate so it's very slow compared to the actual live chat. The difference is very obvious when you check out a VOD that has chat onscreen.

Yes, the new chat is broken too. Many messages are eaten even in the live chat replay. I also saw one superchat that didn't appear in the replay either.

YouTube is so busted right now. Even the live chat replay is much slower than the on-screen chat in the VODs.
