I haven't drawn in fucking months, and after this month I don't plan on drawing in a while most likely again. I am shit, and I've only gotten worse with lack of practice. Despite my failures, I can't help but be utterly ecstatic. 1 month. To improve. I think I might be slightly nuts. I've always been over-analytical and autistic. I've done large amounts of research into Visual Working Memory, and drawing acquisition. Honestly, the theory of art has always interested me than application, and I've been always unable to defend thus. 1 month. At last one update pick a day.

I will intermittently stream and probably post that I am: https://picarto.tv/XUFNZLYBZ

I can't record my motions on the paper, but I'd do screen annotations of my process. My exercises range from by-the-book to seemingly unnecessary to utterly insane. I'm not expecting anyone to be that interested, but having a group of people that can call me out on my BS would always be nice. Hey, if I actually achieve anything fruitful, I might explain my line of logic. It is rather time-cube-y. I am not normal

Pic related, just shat this out - really shit. Just as a reference starting point. I will make my update-drawings more focused in the future.

>Who says a blind artist cant become famous because he somehow feels the paint and can create beatiful artworks without ever seeing them?

>Who says a guy with shaking hands cant draw with his feet?

>Who says you cant use your disability as a drive to proceed?

Hey all of these are possibilities in your dream world. Assuming if one can attain such skill under these conditions, it doesn't change the fact that they'd have to work orders of magnitude harder to get these skills.

Ignoring all of this, the real question really is the relevance of this talent? I don't really know, but I'd like to meet someone who was able to form extremely accurate schema of objects from birth.

That's it for me for now. That thread about north east asians being able to draw without construction is humorous but I am not going to bite for now.

When are you faggots ever going to give me something insightful to think about? Fucking hell.

Yes there is a talent in art as with literally anything. First of all, let's take out the most obvious traits. If you are completely blind, you can't fucking draw. I am 90% sure that is the case.

If you do, it would be probably in the form of movement stimulated drawing that children naturally do at earlier stages of development.

Also, depending on learning disability or form of aphantasia (e.g. complete lack of visual-spacial skills), you have an objective disadvantage.

Let's move on to things that will (or at least theoretically should) give you an edge or disadvantage in art.

1) Genetic Visual-Spatial intelligence (not an extreme factor but can effect how fast your acquisition of the fundamentals)
2) Genetic Visual Long/Short term memory - see above
3) Hyperthymesia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperthymesia))
4) Various schizotypal traits may affect creativity (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nje--J7fsfw&feature=youtu.be))
5) Arm Dexterity - While unlikely, you could have conditions in which you can't control your hand well
6) Self Control (http://journals.sagepub.com/doi/abs/10.1177/0093854808326992))
7) ADHD without treatment obviously affects your ability to study
8) Are you a savant?

Won't be surprised if there is more. The importance of these factors are beyond me however (raw disabilities are going to impact you much larger than say - genetic visual-spacial intelligence as there is some evidence that your brain does develop as you learn art http://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-26925271))

Overall there are a lot of variables to look at, but it is delusional to think there is genetic advantage one could have in art. This isn't to say professionals or even the masters are talented.

*fucking advice.

I'd must have accidentally deleted the last word. Anyways, that's enough /ic/ for a weak - already strengthens my belief even more that you should only take advice from artists that are better than you and can contact personally. Figuring shit out on your own is better than most of the 'advice' on this board. Fuck man.

I am not trying to seem smart. You are actually just retarded. Axiom is 2-3 syllables - not even a big word. Not trying to sound smart either - I am just ranting.

>a statement or proposition that is regarded as being established, accepted, or self-evidently true.

If you have a better word be my guess. I've had too little sleep to care. At the same time though, you are just proving my point. You are trying too hard to find a black/white idea that I do not believe. I do not thing fundamentals are a meme - I am just disgusted that no one questions them or even tries to understand them.

I've wasted way too much fucking time on this board browsing for something. Anything. Partially meaningful discourse happens every so often but it comes rare an few.

This one hit the last straw:

>>3151525

For a while now I've been checking /ic/ a lot, but I couldn't find out why. Now I do. I've been looking for more people that think the way I do.

I've searched on the internet far and wide finding some cracks here and there but nothing much, and definetely not by someone who is serious. I've searched up "why fundamentals" and I've found no discussion related to it. It seems as though artists are intellectually inferior on some level to people that are interested in fitness. The amount of people that question the fundamentals they practice is abysmal.

No one makes any serious research into biology. People look at biased samples of professionals and deny that talent exists.

Very little ask, "If it is all about hard work and simply the fundamentals, how come Gi is a fraction of Vilppu's age and is miles ahead of him in terms of visual imagery"

Even little observe whether he is really visualizing things in his head, or if the process in itself is even efficient.

Overall it boils down to the "just draw" retort over and over when it obviously isn't solely that. Why are people so unable to doubt people that lived centuries? Why is this so taboo?

And then I hit me. I've been browsing the web lately, aimlessly for answers. My issue is that I already have a lot of them.

If you want to discuss my axioms and be really critical of illustration as a medium you can join my discord. I only care about talking about people that genuinely want to understand Gi's skills and get to his level.

Might make a blog one day or something. Idk. Wake me up when more artists make art like yev. He is one of the few artists that seem to still post that I actually like his style.

Holy shit, this post is too long that its cringy.
