Noted.

I see I'll study up on comic book etiquette, but I'll still make mistakes. This is a practice comic anyway...

Thanks again d/ic/ks.

So is this bad paneling too?

I suppose so, but this comic is practice...
Well I'm gonna do my best to improve it.

Thanks for the help!

But the first panel isn't dynamic...
Why would I shape an landscape panel like that if nothing dynamic is shaping the page to justify the angle?

Its just a peaceful shot showing a calm background. Mind explaining to me a bit more, I am no expert but if you're I'd greatly appreciate more constructive criticism like >>3007590

No offense.

Right! Now that you say it, i'm not sure if my first chapter is slow or face paced really. From what i planned it seems to go at a moderate pace...

But i am a patient guys when reading, so i wonder if it might be to slow... I mean i am polishing up most of the right now (slow though).

What about yours, to be honest I know I can't do everything right since this is the first comic I'm actually trying to make.

So are you saying I'm not capturing attention with the first page, or I am but thats the wrong thing to do?

True but those were more sketches and really unfinished, this is the first official one being displayed...

So I just started my first comic and I plan on mixing a detailed manga looking characters and backgrounds with elements of goofy cartoon character, backgrounds and etc.

Is this a bad idea?

Deleted post? Did i do something wrong?

I'd just like a bit of advice on the page and get an evaluation on what i need to improve on please.

I drew the whole page anon... both top and bottom...

So i finish planning my first chapter, and i plan on trying my best to continuously learn and develop my "art" skills using this comic as both practice and execution.

Look at what you see what do i currently need to improve on, to make this look GREAT!

Okay yup I can see why the face looks less cute. Not using a reference to draw this wasn't the best idea, but i wanted to try and see if i could get it close without looking.

I made this about a month ago. To be honest after a while i began wondering what people really thought of it. It got likes, but i wanna get a fair critique of this.

Better yet, I want to hear what i couldn't see in this drawing. What was colored wrong? Are the lines dirty? and etc..

You know I've been drawing cartoon and fantasy stuff for year and I really draw from real life... But I feel like i can learn a lot from doing both.

But right now I'm at a level where, I'm constantly trying to find out what can be improved upon. pic related, was an attempt to gray-scale a comic, but i realized this is'nt very appealing.

I kinda suck at painting... and art.

Are there any books i can read to help improve in rendering, painting, values and etc. I'm drawing a comic and every bit of art "gainz" will help.

Also Critique I know it's a sketch and it's off a bit here and there, but i wanna see what's not obvious to me.

So, to anyone whose had to go through thick and thin. I'm currently doing gestures to better improve and express my ideas. I'm currently doing a comic that deals with (Mostly) Cartoon Characters and whatever else. I've been doing gestures for 4 days now (and I admit i did manage to miss a day or two doing gestures).
Anyway i wanna ask anyone who is confident in their knowledge of gestures aside from Loomis (haven't gotten to that book) and Hampton (The book i'm on) What are other books that will help, I'm not just looking for gestures but something else to practice while i gesture like anatomy or rendering and etc...

Sorry if the cartoon character isn't appropriate i just wanted to see how well figures and gesture translated to how i drew them.

Dat 3 of the Gesture Book, Mr. Hampton has some really good advice.

I hope that Loomis book on Figure Drawing helps fill in the blanks with whatever Hampton doesn't cover in this book OR helps reinforce the lessons.

What do you think so far? And what books or fundamentals are you working on Color? Anatomy? Animals? Etc...
