What will be in the background? The painterly look is very effective--in fact I think I like this better than just your lineart (not that there's anything wrong with it.) I enjoyed seeing this being made too

I'm a sucker for anything with good perspective and construction, good job. And bonus points for the funny concept and facial expression. Can't find you on Instagram for some reason

Seconded. Don't delete that drawing, Rat (also good use of perspective there)

Thanks! I drew that one just a couple days ago and on smoother paper. Grainy sketchbook paper has turned out to be a major obstacle for me when making finalized drawings.

Now what's this

Yeah I was trying to make all the skulls and bones melt into each other indistinctly to give the impression of a mutated Lovecraftian deer monster, so that was deliberate. But I agree it would be more effective if it looked gigantic. Had I paid more attention to perspective and maybe set the horizon line low, the monster could have looked hundreds of feet tall instead of 8 feet or whatever. Your Loomis chart is very helpful, it's reminding me that I need to brush up on my perspective fundamentals.

Thank you anon. I have not experimented with ink washes but I have played around with watercolor here and there. This type of pencil drawing is pretty similar to ink wash/WC so I guess it would be a good idea to try it out again. I'm more practiced in oils.

Here's another one in the same style

I'm trying to figure out how to draw mostly with layers of tone rather than lines. Here is an improvised piece I did a few months ago--any comments on what is and isn't working?

I could tell the short height was deliberate though, lol. The nicknames are a nice touch, they're endearing and non-cringy.

This is great, every character is very distinct and full of personality (Angel is best girl). The concept is pretty creative too, now I want to try it myself. Twitter Thot's proportions make her look like a midget though. Which one are you?

>is this WC? the coloring looks a bit stiff being contained inside the lifework. Loosen up a bit, sometimes if you color before you ink it makes it more dynamic

Yeah it's watercolor over linework. I'm new to WC so I get that horrid patchy texture when painting wet on dry and I'm still trying to figure out how to get an even tone. That's a good suggestion, I'll get used to painting first and applying lines later. I also found that painting wet-on-wet helps smooth out the brushstrokes. I'm more comfortable with oil, watercolor is a foreign land to me.
