Go to the Drawing Achademy in Viborg. It's wonderfull the people are nice the environment screams high class art and the teachers are amazing. I have Maja Vendelbo as my teacher she just came from the school of classical art in Saints petersburg.
http://majamv.com/drawings/figure/
Here is some of her drawings.
We asre quickly learning and i can see that the work i'm doing now is twice as good as what i did 2 months ago. :) I learned more in 2 months than i did in 8 months studying myself ( 5 hours a day).

So yeah very recormended.

Also applying for the Animation workshop after also viborg (same school).

So go for it it's very nice but be prepared with some money i saved up 60000DKK up for this semester. :0

Op here.

Thanks a bunch for the link!

I'm currently on 3 - 17 on Erik Oleson. But before i found out about the program i did some of the other stuff e.g. scott and ctrl+ paint

Also currently i'm drawing on a classical course in denmark at the animation school and i'm moving miles each day. so it's only when i have time that i can do the program. :)

Hello /ic/.

I screwed up. I was following a one year fundamentals program.
It's really good but i accidently lost the webpage and can't find it again (it's not in history).

Do any of you by chance have a link to it?

It's the one with Erik Olson Scott Robertson and ctrl+paint etc.

Hope you can help thanks in advance.

OP here.

Thanks for the advice, I've already done many of the things you listed but i think i'll go over them once again and the new ones too, so many thanks! ;)

And I do draw lots of stuff, have some sketchbooks filled with everything from landscapes, gesture (human), animals, monsters, perspective, vechicles adn what not.

So i hope to someday be good enough that a company will hire me. :)

What would be the best book you could recomend on how light works?
Talking about all kinds of light; bounce occlusion color in light etc.

Hope you can help me

I want to study shapes in perspective, lighting. But where can i find source for how to light the shapes?

>> No.2107897 [View]

Okay, I really like the idea of doing the shapes thing. :)

But this may be an out of this world stupid question what are the basic shapes and when do we leave basic and become advanced shapes? o.O

Like balls, cubes pyramids are basic shapes i know, but what about coghweels bottles etc. What would you recomend to pratice with? Just the four simplest shapes or more advanced shapes? :)

What i mean is building a confident line no chicken scratching etc. So when you are done with your rough sketch you can refine it with a solid line work and then get ready for the final painting.

>>2107790
Well linework because I've found myself doing pretty badly when it comes to sharpening up my sketches for painting. Not linework like Anime or Cartoons linework but for my sketches. :)

Hello /ic/.

I've been wondering in which order should i practice the fundamentals because I'd argue some of them are harder to do with others lacking.

http://www.davidrevoy.com/article242/what-skills-are-needed-to-draw

Heres is some of the fundamentals I'm talking about.

And I'd argue that lighting and color etc. would be very hard if you can't even do a proper drawing with lines.
And style is compleatly out of the way if you lack all the others. So you see where I'm getting at?

So my question is; in which order should i practise the fundamentals?

My own oppionion would be:

Linework, Perspective, Proportions, Anatomy, Lighting, Color, style and so on...

Hope you can help me.

thanks in advance

Hello /ic/.

The study threads we have usually have a pciture that everybody is supposed to study. But we don't have a thread (as far as i know). Where people can upload random studies and talk about how they did the study etc. also critique all kind of studies insted of just the same picture.

In short what i'm going for is for a thread for people to get study advices and upload good things to study and their own studies so we can see how they did it.

Anyone up for it? :)

My goal is to become an environment artist. :)

I know there's a lot of 3D involved but i'm going to have a Semester course in classical Drawing (Best school in Europe) and then i'm going to a Computer Graphics Bachelor degree.

So i hope i get good enough but currently iu'm just trying to be as good as possible before my semester course starts at august 4th. :)

And with studies i figured i find images i like with as few errors as i can find because if i can absorb their style i can always get the real knowledge from still life so yeah. :)
