I just figured out why I got suggested loomis, now I understand... I knew the construction looked familiar, but that first panel looks like loomis' instructions, and now I see that it's just anime.

Yeah, that happens to me too. If I wasn't using art as a coping method for all the bullshit I'm dealing with right now, I'd take a month from not drawing as well.

I was in thiat cespool for 5 minutes before quitting because the art is horrid.

Exactly. If you looked at the first sketchbook I ever filled, before I even found sycra or sinix, I was doing repeats of heads until I understood them.

Loomis is an artist that helps with anatomy of humans (from what I've gathered) and no, not really. You can easily translate physical to digital, but going from digital to traditional is very difficult, especially for a newfag.

HOLY FUCKING BULLYMONG SHIT. Y'all fucking disgust me. Have none of you autists ever heard of artistic liberties before? Tjhe reason he made the girls (specifically the white haired one) so large is to make in imbalanced. Bat-girl is trying so hard to be tough here, but no matter how much she tries, cigaret girl (wtf, that's how you spell fucking cigaret?) will be in control of the situation, so she's drawn to be this giant in comparison. Goddamn.

Side note, I wonder if white hair is dtf...

Or we're discouraging people from entering the industry so that it's easier for us.

>1.) I don't care about fortune, but I want fame. How can an artist become as famous as possible, aside from having good work? What kind of influential art positions are there? What can artists do aside from producing work to benefit the industry and art in general?
Um, I wanna be a nice person here and assume the best, but that word choice sucks.
Now, to the meat(spin).
So, You wanna be influential. K. You wanna be famous. K.You wanna make comics. K. You like illustrating. K. You want good advice on /ic/. Not K. Luckily, I'm too busy not trying right now to draw, so you get my benevolent advice.
I'mma assume that pic isn't yours.
With that assumption in mind, I'll take a gander and say that you wanna make shit like that. Alright, in that case, I suggest you read Mien Kampf. Or the Bible, or... Really, any public domain book on the web. After that, you get to do something fun. You get to try and illustrate your favorite scene in said book. In doing that, you can work on two things at once. Illustration, and prose. As an aspiring gaijiin mangaka, I can fully appreciate your wanting to illustrate your own books/make comics. Seems reasonable. What you have to do is study. Forget about the outside world. Forget your friends. Forget food, just read and draw. Wherever you go, read and draw. Get books you have no intention of returning, read them, and doodle in the margins (I kinda hate myself for even doing this, but still.) And for the first question? Not happening. How can an artist become as famous as possible? Good marketing and public appeal. What kind of influential art positions are there? Not sure, really. My goals aren't really that lofty, I just like to draw and lie, so stories it is for me. What can artists do aside from producing work to benefit the industry and art in general? Teach. Have children. Take in assistants once you're good enough. Basically, add to the pool of potential employees and freelancers for people to hire. Good luck!

It's a lack of respect and immersion. I only grew up with anime, so even as a shitty artist, my stuff looks borderline decent versus a lot of weeb shit. But most weebs embraced it because it's trendy, so they don't really respect it as much and only draw chibi or moe shit, most likely because it seems like the easy route to go. Japs, Chinks and Gooks on the other hand, just see it as another style that's just as difficult as others (all things being equal) and that respect causes them to put a little more effort into it.
