NMA is pretty good if you’re decent at self-studying. I would say it’s a bit better than cgma except it doesnt have the critique system that cgma does. I have a subscription and would definitely recommend.

Also, make sure to stay away from non-art websites that offer art courses like lynda, skillshare, etc. They’re usually shit. Pencilkings also sucks.

I took a 3-month ish break from drawing and got back into it recently. You’ll be pretty close to where you left off, and you can probably get back to your original skill level in like a week. Don’t stress about it, go doodle or something to get yourself back in the zone.

They’re probably not pretending, it’s just that if you post on /ic/ without specifying your gender most people automatically assume you are a male

Does it matter if I kind of retreat into my own mind to visualize instead of looking at the air? Like I picture it in my head instead of seeing it in the space in front of me. Should I train myself to do the latter?

Look up Sinix’s video. He explains it in a different way and it might work for you. He also outright says to stay away from circles (very debatable but you might like it personally).

He said he learned by doing 30 minute sketches, he didn’t say they were warmups. It is very probable that he did more than one of them a day but so what? If anons did one of those a day they would surely improve too, just not as fast as mullins did.

not everyone is a NEET. I’m lucky if i can get an hour in on a weekday.

>>3745769
I mean craig mullins did say the opposite of what you posted. Anyway, different things work for different people, I’m fine with 30 minutes per day since I’m really busy anyway and I’m not looking to go pro in a year or whatever. chill out anon

You were looking at studio spark, it is NOT an /ic/ discord, there’s just one guy that goes on /ic/ and shills it. It’s known for being degenerate and having pedoshit and whatnot.

there are some legit ones, the art bullies one is lead by puts and I’m pretty sure it’s a good one. Not sure about nosebro’s server, haven’t been on there since the last one got tanked. There’s drawparty, marmelademum has a server, anime study discord, LAS discord, DAD discord, Art Bloc which disassociated with /ic/, and that’s all i can think of right now. I’m actually not on any discord servers except for anime study atm since I made a new discord acc recently.

Don’t listen to the anons bashing discord, it’s usually not that bad.

A few questions:
1. Would you be able to provide a png file with the white areas transparent? Or do I do that myself
2. How big is the workload? Like how many pages per day/week, when am I going to have to submit them

Ok stop. You’re turning the pose into a symbol. Do other poses, do gestures instead, etc etc. If you always redraw the same poses over and over you’re going to have problems drawing from imagination later on. Keep practicing but with a different ref each time. It’s not like you’ll run out.

mostly just personal taste, he exaggerates the muscles in an unappealing fashion and fucks with shading on purpose too. He even does pillowshading sometimes. He technically has all the correct knowledge but his drawings (not personal work, book diagrams) just look ugly to me. There are other anatomy books so I'll use those instead.

Do at least one finished pen and ink piece every two weeks
Watch all the nma videos I put in that play list, make use of my 1 yr subscription
Make a blog
Draw every day
Finish all my books (except for the hogarth ones because they're bad and I'm deleting them)

jesus christ

yes tracing can improve skill but only if you do it a certain way and you do NOT do it for any work outside of studying

>wah wah woman attention whore
no, it's about doing things that are respectable. It's almost like.a code of honor except you don't have to draw every single work from imagination. You just have to know how to do imagination drawing decently, both for yourself and for the people who look at your work and assume you can.

hol up
I am honestly ok with underagefags in high school but don’t post info like that, it will get you banned.

Anyway for someone in school who has been drawing seriously for 6 months you are doing fine, keep going. You sound like you have a decent learning plan. You also have a lot of time ahead of you, so there’s nothing to complain about there.

These don’t look that bad but it’s a bit lackluster for four years depending on how much you drew. What kind of books/vids did you study? Did you draw from imagination much?
