Your focus should be on the planes.

I will explain here, but i highly recommend reading the original thread.


When you draw a square you focus on the angles.

This builds your visual library so that you can draw a square/rectangle.At any angle by manipulating the angles you.

This is why drawing a rectangle is very easy.feels very natural to our minds. Our library of angles makes it so.

When you draw an angle you focus on the lines.

This allows us to read whats in our library. Like the alphabet. Lines are the alphabet of Angles.

This is why you practice perpendicular and parrelel lines. Its jogging your memory to recall your alphabets.

Now lets go back to the rectangle example. What the non artist sees is a rectangle, what the artist sees is a series of angles.

A non artist sees a box, the artist sees a series if planes.

Planes are the aplhabet to the box. As angles are the alphabet to planes.

When you draw a box, you focus in the planes. Not the lines, not the angles.

This causes your brain to store the planes in your memory,just as the abc are.

When you draw what you see(planes) and not what you know(boxes). It causes box creation to become intuitive. It will feel natrual. So natrual you will be able to construct boxes from the inside out just as well as the opposite.

Remember think of the different boxes youve seen as a book in your library. And the planes as the language required to read it.

As we progresd in art the boxes become the alphabet and the object, like a car becomes the book.
