This board barely has redlines on it. Teal was the main redline guy and he's gone. Otherwise there are only one or two people who bother to do them, and they do paintovers not redlines.

There is a slight problem with that on /co/. When attempting to discuss other board-tans in a non-group set up, as in developing the "character," someone more often than not will chime in about how that should be done on the board it is meant to personify.
That usually happens with just about any board except the ones which have never had any discussion about board-tans.

And on another note, I try to keep the board-tan shimmie up to date with whatever I find, but since /ic/ isn't one of my more frequented boards, the gallery of d/ic/k is probably lacking.
I add what I find, but usually I miss out on threads like these ones unless someone else uploads something prompting me to go looking, as is the case right now.

Exaggerating the distance between the eyes usually conveys the character is foolish. It's okay to break the rules of anatomic proportion for the sake of characterization, and I think it works well for the piece.
Remember: No rules, only tools. Even Loomis knew how to do that.

It mainly seems dominated by /co/ because they keep all their stuff well organized and updated while other boards don't, despite some of them being more active on the subject than others.

Like how /v/ is currently pumping out dozens of new pics of their board's old personification from 2008, only so many of them actually find their way onto the 4chanhouse site since most people in the /v/ threads don't care about keeping their content organized and available.

/co/'s board-tan is also kind of split between being their board-tan and being a character in the /co/ comic universe, with the latter being the more dominate of the two these days.

Not sure? I never followed it too closely since he did most of his stuff in the Alt art/manga thread which I don't look at much. I think he still posted a bit after the drama.

He also had a lot of haters at one point, which may have been part of him leaving. Or maybe he is too busy.

I myself do a decent number of paintovers...in the past maybe two years I've done over 200 paintovers for /ic/. But I haven't done as many lately as before, for several reasons...people don't always even acknowledge you do them, people hate on you (sometimes justified, sometimes not), and I simply have been more busy lately with work and haven't had time to do as many. It can be discouraging when I take time out of my busy schedule to help someone, and they never look at it, or you get a couple people telling me to fuck off and saying I ruined it. get a few paintovers in a row like that and it gets discouraging.
