How do you feel about having a muse?
This girl in the pic is a life model at one of the studios I go to. I find her absolutely stunning. When I stare at the contours of her body I am almost in a trance. My eyes are so drawn to her I feel as though I am taking in more information than I would an average person. I am truly inspired by her beauty.

Of course I think about having sex with her. But when I fantasize about her I'm not imaging penetrating her, but caressing her body with my hands, feeling every supple curve with my mouth. This is enough to go on. It's an interesting premise. Let's assume you don't exclusively draw (trace/copy) Japanese cartoons and make actual art. Does it affect your perspective to fall in love with your subject? Does your emotional distance translate into how it affects what you put onto the page? Can you FEEL the distant desire, the butterflies when the artist looks at her? Beyond the lust, can the person viewing the work pick up on, for example, the artist's hesitance, lack of confidence, loneliness, etc.?
It's a lot more interesting and potentially more useful than a lot of other shit posted on this board.

The idea I'm getting at is that when making love to a woman, esp the first time, I really want to take in her body and get to know every inch of it. When drawing the figure, you're kind of doing the same thing. Since I'm attracted to the person I'm drawing, I am sort of making love to them with my eyes (eye-fucking if you want to be crass). This really gets me into a flow state. I wouldn't say there is a huge difference in the quality of my drawing, but it does get me to try my hardest.

But like most guys, once I've been with a girl a few times, the mystery wears off, and the initial desire is diminished. By never crossing that line, my desire will remain, and so will the inspiration she gives me.

When I think of someone's muse, I think of someone you're actually inspired by. I wasn't trying to put thoughts into your head, but does she not inspire you in any way beyond being physically attractive? You can see that she's graceful, and has an edgy vibe. What does it make you feel?

It doesn't have to be overt. If you're trying to express something beyond a technical recreation of what you see, how might you do that? Color, lighting. Art with "soul" can convey the view of the artist, or allow the viewer to project their own feeling onto it.
If she's your muse, doesn't she inspire you to make something that says something beyond "this girl is sexy?"

I think sometimes people are heavily discouraged from actually feeling things, driven away from their passions out of fear of being judged (as many in this thread would do). You may very well be right, but it could also be that they just aren't comfortable exploring that stuff yet. I want to believe OP is capable of more complex thought because he probably is. It could be that he just isn't letting himself feel those things.
Maybe he can make some art reflecting on THAT. It CAN be that deep if he wants it to.

I Don’t recommend trying that. It’s probably of some value to learn as a man your life does indeed revolve around one woman, just don’t be surprised that hers doesn’t revolve around you.

A memory of someone who was ultimately unattainable will at best be melancholy and realistic, and at worst overly sentimental or vulgar. Both of the latter are much more common. Especially as their memory fades away the fight to remember them becomes near impossible when your memories of them are more of your fantasies of what didn’t come to pass than what actually happened. Separating fact from fiction becomes more and more difficult, and when all you have as evidence of your relationship is old artwork they modeled for it because even more blurry and unclear.

And the pain of knowing they felt literally no level of connection to you as the most random hookup they’ve had, no matter how hard you work or inspired your art of them becomes. It’s so painfully pointless, but maybe that’s how you become a great artist. Who cares?
