It's OK if at the time of posting their frequency was longer. You could see for example a dad posting 5 minute doodles each day and think he's cheating, but that would actually be ok according to the rules if his posting frequency was once every 7 days (because all those posts would add up to 7*5 = 35, which is over 30 minutes of work required in a single submission period).
It is a bit of a mess and as much as I like dad.gallery, I'd welcome a new site with clearer rules (especially if they allowed lolis and cubs).

Copy what you like, apply what you learn, and use references.

Copying quickly by eyeballing helps you build speed, accuracy, and muscle memory.
If you redraw without ref on a later session it should help cement muscle memory.
Using references is always good, because it's about making use of something (poses, textures, geometry), rather than simply copying. At some point you may internalize a reference so that you don't need it anymore, but that's only attained with mileage.

I'll likely never create a thread OP. I almost did once but the gun is often jumped.

The social media threads are tiresome. I briefly frequented /loomis/ for some time and enjoyed, and prefer, the quality, despite low traffic. DAD strikes some kind of balance yet, in my opinion, 90% of its inhabitants have bad taste and often disappoint. At least they seem human.
