For me it's this one, which is just https://twitter.com/saltiecattoz/status/1786168924901429299 + tiny amount of lens blur + Looksbuilder
Granted Spongebob cels don't look The Matrix

It's got the cel effect but that's it.
Spongebob looks off model and this doesn't feel like the kind of camera angle you would see in early Spongebob, it was mostly eye-level medium shots with characters on 3/4 angles, y'know how all american cartoons are.
Also the fact that the picture is referencing a modern internet meme kills what little amount of credibility it had left, but I understand that's the whole joke so I'm not complaining.
I'm just stating that its not convincing even in the slightest.

The cel effect is really all I'm looking for
Spongebob's hilariously off-model here; his nose is more than off-center, his arms and legs are too fat, I think the fingers are reference off of something.
The camera angles being out of style is fine, better to be too dynamic than Family Guy
Here's a less blurred version

I couldn't believe picrel wasn't actually a real frame from spongebob.

he's off model because it's a redraw of a meme with an atrocious roblox avatar

We had a thread discussing this a year ago (June 12th), really fun back and forth.
I'm gonna derail the thread, as I feel like everytime I see a thread like this it's the same stuff.
What makes fake cel's work is really embed compression. You watch something like PBJ Bears, Project Geeker, or 2 Stupid Dogs, shows that don't have a 4K 33mm film stock blu ray rerelease/remaster. It's done on film, but the film grain isn't screaming at you in textures. The cel shadows aren't present because the bitrate compression of the image is coming from a
>film > master tape > tv broadcast > digital transfer
What always intrests me with this stuff are those trying to imitate but have knowledge of compression. Not slavishly trying to go for an aesthetic
And with this, the image compression isn't being used as a shorthand for lack of knowledge of later era 20th century animation. It's being used to compliment what's already there. Which is what makes it work

>inb4 you're falling for bait
don't care

Not many people actually use the record to VHS method, except for this guy

And even then he doesnt do animations of his own, just screenshots

Mine, where I actually made a cel by printing my scanned lineart onto a transparency sheet and painted it. It has my sooper secret oc though so you can't see it.
