I don't know why it's so hard to draw something original or of yourself, but it does seem like most people here care more about clout and social media clicks than making something that's a "part" of themselves.

I always wondered about the whys of that and then i realized it is exactly because of consumer behavior and the potential profits of social media:
What do most normies care about? Fanart and Porn, ideally just both combined.
Originality is cringed upon because it isn't based on an IP or subject that is already well established so it leaves no room for anything else, thus everyone just produces slop in an attempt to grind clout and money, which in turn attracts more lemmings who hope to do the same.
In conclusion; we get a bunch of straight up normies infesting spaces they don't belong and dictating what everyone else must do through sheer raw numbers, corrupting what the thing originally was about.

They are soulless animals who only chase art to get attention on themselves while being not-approved by others is their ultimate nightmare hence why they never dare question anything or show anything that could ever be not-liked or remotely used against them or twisted as a weakness.

Ask them to come up with something original and they'll check themselves into therapy or put every single mental illness in their twitter bios.
They despise originality as well because it reminds them how soulless they are.

I hate this gigacope. Your original art isn't cringed upon and ignored because it's original. It's cringed upon because it IS cringe. Having a connection with the viewer is difficult through a static drawing. It's more advantageous to piggyback on something the viewer already has an attachment to like greek gods, jesus, pop culture characters etc. When you make original work, you have to build that from the ground up and your work has to be exceptional .
