Has drawing with any of your artist friends rubbed off on you?

My main problem is with them not feeling the want to draw when we are together.
I guess one draws only ponies and the other is a big beg, but dang, let's just draw together.

>> No.7164843

i do a drawpile twice a week with a few friends, no idea what you mean by has it rubbed off on me though. seems like I kept improving and they kind of stagnated over time though and the ones that were really good dropped out aeons ago.

A little bit, sometimes I would apply or pickup little flourishes by drawing friend's characters on model.

No, They don’t invite me to draw with them and No one really cares that I do art. But They mostly make more abstrakt art while I focus on character art mostly.

Posting on /cbsg/ when it was super active really made me improve because the other artists were so good. They were leagues ahead of me but it felt like I was being pulled forward out of pure jealousy.

No.
I have 3 friends irl that draw and every time we draw together it is not productive or fun.

>None of them accept constructive criticism
>"That's just my style" excuse
>"I can't do this prompt, it's too hard"
>It was a horse.
>Bitch couldn't even attempt a horse
>"can we take some of the more complicated prompts out of our art nights?"
>Buildings and nature are the complicated things
>bitch can't even attempt a fucking tree or house

We have all been drawing for 10+ years.
I love them, they are my childhood friends.
As people who claim they "love to draw" they piss me off.

Here's an old horse sketch for you anon. I had two other friends during highschool that really wanted to improve and that was great to be able to crit eachother without anyone being pissy about it even tho we we're kinda beg level besides one of us who could copy really good.

Yeah I couldn't imagine drawing with my normie friends but I've had good experiences drawing with other art students. It's also good for inspiration and motivation because we always feel like catching up to each other.

oh big time. I used to be a massive slow ass with art, and even though I'm still slow as shit, I probably draw ~3x faster than I did before just because of the speed at which my friend draws at. Similarly, I used to take way too long on construction and was really unconfident in creating a figure without fully sketching it first, which I learned to deviate away from since my friend had mainly drawn with the pen only technique before/could work without construction on smaller pieces.

Just drawing on calls with a friend or on whiteboards made a lot of subconscious influences that I'm probably not aware of either.
only downside is that I feel a constant flame under my ass now to improve, which gets worse the more time I spend slacking and not drawing.

Man I wish I could have art friends, but I have trouble trusting others and sharing my interests with them. I'm too protective of my personal space to the point that it becomes unbearable for others.
Also I'm not Howie

ye, it got me into art to begin with. Was like 8 years old, every time we meet up we just draw together. Fast forward 20 years and still doing that from time to time. They didn't improve to much, but it helps to inspire each other. Iscribble used to be a thing for me too where I met short term friends to draw with. Kinda just feels nice to draw in an environment to draw with someone else, rl or online.
