To get good you have to fail. If you don't get over it, then choose another hobby
You don't have to show it, you can fail all you want in private and only show your good pieces, but if you want to get good, you have to fail.

bro, life is all about failing and learning. to be scared of failing is to be scared of life. if you're scared of life, just end it. Scared of death? Stop being a pussy and fail then.

you are focused, like I have naturally yet mistakingly been in the past, too much on your immediate circumstances. if you think for a *second* about the greater extent of your life and the prospect of failing to accomplish or at least try various things, you will realize that what is scarier is not making a bunch of shit drawings at present. realistically you have two options: avoid short-term discomfort with imperfection, or avoid long-term regret from inaction. your future self will surely appreciate your for suffering in the short-term to not suffer in the long-term. no one will save you.

Ask yourself this young Grasshopper.
If you fail, who would care? I mean really, who would honestly give a shit?
Is someone going to come to your house and break your knees if you don't get over 10 likes?
Are they going to mount your head on a spike because you accidently drew 2 left hands?

You will fail at times, yes. But people will still like it.
Even if they don't, fuck em, draw anyway.
Draw because you love drawing, and a following will follow.

Me.

I would.

I already do this to myself (mentally).
>Draw because you love drawing
I only love drawing when it turns out alright.

I'm not too scared of failure itself, more just embarrassed and humiliated by the fact that I, a fully grown man, am worse at drawing than literal schoolchildren.

what do you think is worse: making a poor drawing now, or avoiding drawing for the rest of your life and regretting not having bit the bullet and worked through making shitty drawings for some time?

I'm already regretting not having bit the bullet a decade ago, so making a poor drawing is scarier since it requires actual action and upsets the status quo.

>so making a poor drawing is scarier since it requires actual action and upsets the status quo
that's not a necessary conclusion from the premise. you could recognize that drawing now requires action and "upsets" your current state of habit but still fear dying with the regret of not having gotten good at art more - that's certainly true of myself. I struggled with it for some time, but I got into art late and hated reflecting on the fact that if I didn't work through my shitty drawings now that I would never get good and only be able to think about what might've been. ultimately no one else can make you have such considerations. all you can do is meditate on it and hope your reasoning comes around, if you truly want to get good more than avoiding immediate suffering.
>I'm already regretting not having bit the bullet a decade ago
perhaps take some time - a week, even - to consider yourself 10 more years down the line and think about how proud of yourself you would be if you were to start now and be dilligent in your studies. either way, you know what you need to do and will have no one else but yourself to blame for your action or inaction.
