My dreams or imagination, I like to imagine a subject I want to draw and move around in that 3d space with a floating camera mind view. It was tough at first but it gets easier the more you do it

once you've done this enough times and learnt a lot while doing you'll be way better at making compositions of your own, obviously.

I took several graphic design classes and designers take composition way more seriously than current modern artists seem to, so you could maybe look for graphic design books on grid layouts. There's also a book called The Painters Secret Geometry that's all about the grid systems being used in old paintings. Loomis also had a book where he talked about layouts.

I have that goddamn book on grids and swirls and I'm pretty sure it's all bullshit meant to captivate brainlets.

Picture This by Molly Bang and Framed Ink by Marcos Mateu-Mestre are the best books on composition

I second this and should have had it on my list.

>> No.7049884 [DELETED]

how can I grind or cheat at composition if I have zero creativity? Like a cheat sheet or formulas to memorize in math.
