i’ve always bought duplicates of the same black recycled-paper square sketchbooks since I first started art as a kid.
so starting with a blank 1:1 canvas feels a bit like coming home.

Anything that is more square or a mild rectangle horizontally, but vertical is complete trash in anything that is not a portrait and too wide is equally shit, it might work in physical and large to fill up a wall but it's not good in any other format.
Your eyes have a sweet spot of focus and they should aim for that.
