Love how coherent this scene is and all the subtle storytelling in it, depsite how many figures and elements it has. The allegory of shadow on the pitiless Roman court, and the strong light source on the noble captured Germans.
The battered ibex-horned kithara of the old sage as he's dragged by his beard, the weird skank behind the Romulus and Remus wolf statue egging it all on. There's so much in here.

Praying this last one by Henryk will fit. I got more, but I'm not energetic enough to scale it down. It's getting late for me.
He does so much with light, that you barely notice that is scenes are not fully rendered and are largely impressionistic.
Really cool guy.

But I do not think ethnonationalism is the same as hate. Gasparro's art looks disgusting, because his emotion that he paints with is disgust for another ethnicity, and hence though his art is largely grotesque.
