Why am I the OP of this thread?
>How to avoid stagment
Find something new to learn every so often, see yourself going to bed feeling a little less dumb, as we say here.
>Please tell me how, everything I draw looks the same no matter what I do.
If your problem is about lack of variety, then focus on exactly that, variety. Study different body types, different facial structures, different artstyles, whatever works for you to make a difference.

Now nuke this thread before it becomes a dramafagging shitshow, you are already not posting your own work.

Have her doing things,feeling things.

Put her in situations, comic,tragic,absurd.

Think how she would react in each.

I want to believe you guys are purposely missing the fact the guy in the OP is not Gabe for the sake of vendettafagging on him, because otherwise, that'd mean you guys are bitching on someone who's art cant even tell from a completely different artist lmfao.

I wasnt looking for critiques, but Im gladly taking this, thank you. I could do very small prompts for a start, not think about it too hard, that'd make for some good change of pace, I think.

Here's my opinion. Stagnation is staying the same, drawing the same things at the same level, if you push yourself past your comfort zone to draw things that are challenging you wont stagnate. Stength can also be measured in speed. How quickly can you achieve the same quality of result., part of this is just coming down to your own choice, if you choose to draw the same character without pushing your limits you wont improve and vice versa. Another problem I think just comes down to art style itself. If you style is simple and cartoony then there is an upper limit while staying within that look. It's kinda like when they made an hd remake of Legend of zelda windwaker, but it didn't look THAT different since the original had cartoony cel shading and held up over time. So just keep that in mind. Stagnation is always a choice, whether it's unconscious laziness or reaching the limit of a particular artstyle

I mean, Im still here if that's worth anything.
What you're saying is very insightful, specially about reaching a limit and how improvements can be measured beyond how the end result looks, at the end art comes to what you can do and what you decide to do.
That said, striving for more it's always a good thing, even if you want to draw simple cartoony shapes, but I think a lot of people have this weird misconception about stagnating where you're supposed to aim to be the most skilled artist humanity has ever conceived otherwise you are mediocre, completely forgetting that art is a choice and your end goal can be anywhere within the spectrum of what's considered good or masterful. I feel some people just forget some artists just want to aim for very specific things and dont want to aim to be the next KJG.

Have I mentioned I adore your works? It's good to see you so often on this board!

The way I do it is to try and do something new or better each time I make a drawing. It doesn't matter how small is the step you take, as long as you're putting in that extra effort every time, it builds up~

u need to loosen up a lot. try drawing in different mediums (if you like digital media outcomes the best you can scan/mess around w layers), getting the hang of life drawing and really letting go with fast, confident lines helped my work stop being repetitive and feel more alive.

In the simplest terms possible, a LoRA is an art style plugin for an AI. That anon's joke is that OP's style is frozen in time like a LoRA.

Maybe study irl instead of drawing the same characters/ animu girls, i know it is a hard concept to get but when a 15 schizo is able to draw more varied subjects than you are doing something wrong lel.

Simple. Just draw something different. Really, find art or a subject that is completely out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself to draw it exactly to a tee. If you're not interested in drawing other art styles, that's the problem. There is everything to learn in places you haven't explored.

WTF is “stangment”

>> No.6985899

>>6979779
Challenge yourself, if you have just been drawing characters floating in a void or coom shit, try making something more complex like a comic or a more complete illustration with a proper time and setting.
Like you wanna draw your waifu?
Paint her in the jurassic era as she gets chased by horny barbarians driving mecha lizards.
Draw her as she stabs a poisonous needle within the emperor's neck just as he fills her womb with a creampie in the luxurious halls of Giedi Prime shortly before a meeting with the Harkonnens.
It's easy to stagnate because we like to stick to the explored world, we fear getting uncomfy yet it's exactly there where we reap the sweetest exp.
Pick up painting in a new medium, animation, sculpture, whatever, just add something to the mix.
It works.

You literally asked how to keep improving. Giving context to your drawings to tell stories is the best thing you can do to improve as an illustrator.

Here's some reason artists stagnate
- complacent with their art
- unwillingness to experiment
- unwillingness to research and study
- perfectionism or fear of failure
- unfocused or aimless approach to art
- reached peak of their growth curve
- mental disorders and disabilities
