I started out just looking at art I saw on Twitter and studying drawings that I thought had cool shapes, colors, shading, things like that. The only problem is that artists don't really show you the steps they use for construction or anything, so I just winged it a lot of the time. It took this long to figure out how to actually add depth to the face, haha!

Don't be afraid to show people, just remember that most people outside 4chan don't know what "furry" is and think drawing animal people is as normal as animal characters in cartoons n whatnot, so just say you do cartoon stuff. Maybe that works in the realm of menial tasks but watching others draw isn’t going to significantly effect your own results.
I recognize you by your art because as every Spanish mangaka at the top has told me, “every artist has their own style”. We’re all prewired to draw a certain way with early stages of practice already showing what our styles are going to look like.
Nearly a decade later, R-MK’s kemofurry art has been the same style, just with photorealistic rendering and all of the artists who’ve intentionally attempted to emulate his abilities, even the good ones, failed by lacking his talent. He has a big following for being the only one capable of what he does.

I, nor anybody else will ever have your gift. Just because anyone can learn to draw doesn’t mean anyone can do what you can

Sensational lioness btw

Would any /fag/s tell me how they go about making multiple iterations of their art a la "paper doll" (changing the facial expression, clothing, shadows, etc). It seems the only way to do this on the software i use is to just duplicate everything into its own folder and forego parity - and hope that i dont have to make an edit on the foundational layers. This seems lazy of me to think but maybe there's a better way on another software? Thanks in advance

Getting gud at art is about breaking out of your comfort zone and working on what you're not good at. It can be downright crushing when a genuine effort to do a study or practice turns out subpar (in your eyes) but just remember it's ok to not hit the ground running, so long as you get back up when you fall down. That being said, doing silly doodles that make you smile are just as important because it can help you let loose and relieve stress.

I plan and isolate the parts of the image that will vary. The head and all of it's features (inks, color, shades etc) gets a folder for each emote. The one time I did an alt for a painted pic I just straight up painted over the base image on a single layer. A madlad friend of mine does the same.

My question is: if I have this email linked to my normal personal PayPal, can I select which email/info is shown when people send me money? Or would I be better off creating a whole separate PayPal for the second email?

You're going to hate me, but for the first one, I can't remember. I think I started with either boxes, or ellipses representing the ribs and stuff. For the one I drew today, I started by using a 3D model as reference to work out my initial pose idea, then I used a box. If you can't tell already, my process isn't very well-defined. I've struggled a lot with construction and finding a method that clicks with me. More often than not I just go by feel, which is incredibly unproductive and frustrating, but sometimes it works out.

If I'm really having trouble with something, I'll usually start with the rib-ellipse, or a box, just so I can at least try to establish a center line. Honestly, at least for me, establishing the center is the most important step, because a lot of my stuff is really skewed (as you can likely see). I'm getting better I think, but...well, it's been a struggle. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but I'm glad you like the drawings.

Use variable line weight. You obviously have some understanding and skill, but a single static line width just flattens everything. Clean lines are such overrated advice, depth and implied shapes are more pleasing
Also third panel took me a while to understand, Is the cat trying to throw the pillow under the lizard's legs to catch the egg? Why are we seeing the cat from an overhead perspective then?

FInally some actually good advice thanks. I didn't include a horizon line/background so that could lead to confusion. Panel 3 and 4 are basically the same perspective.

One of my fav artists snowskau, who I try to refrence in my linework, does include a slight amount of line width but more opacity based linestrengh. Something I still have to figure out with photoshop

>> No.6952367

>>6952338
Oh now I get it, the cat is divebombing forward and we're looking through the lizard's legs? Yeah, that's definitely a tricky angle to pull off. I tried extreme perspective stuff recently and it was a bit screwy as well, definitely my weakest point. But at least you're trying stuff, I respect slightly weird extreme perspective more than I do just okay super easy 3/4 angle poses
Maybe put the pillow more in "front" of the cat, as it is, it looks like it's "above' the cat which causes the perspective confusion

hey bros returning after a very VERY long hiatus involving anything art related. I got an iPad during black friday and have been trying to learn procreate. Here are 2 of my first drawings, thought I’d post here before anywhere else.
Anyone have a good read or video about eyes? I just can’t get them right. Same with feet but I can always just cut those off :)

same and thank you very much, it means a lot when its from a stranger- and procreate is a little overwhelming to be honest, lots of gesture shit you need to learn, and there are a million (and more!) brushes to test. plus im only using the usb-c apple pen this week until i can get the gen 2 next week, my apple store was sold out and ive heard the pressure sensor makes a world of a difference for tapering. and yea im psyched to start art again, i always felt something was missing in my life. its been like 11 years, since high school let out.

>gesture shit
Ah yes, the reason I bought a separate bluetooth dongle for hotkeys. I use a Surface Studio though, so the gestures aren't as fleshed out. I'm sure you'll be fine. also jealous of your pen. The Surface pen is actually quite good at what it does, and a lot of reviews do it injustice--it works just fine. But the Apple pen does seem to perform better. I just have no use for an iPad.

>11 years, since high school
lmao, you're basically me. Took me 1about 14 years to get back into it though, again since high school, but it's been going really well. And judging from your work, it's going well for you too. Just remember not to give up even when it's rough, and I think you know all to well it will get rough again. You have at least one anon in your corner.

yea exactly. You're looking trough the legs. I mean you only improve when you push yourself out of your comfort zone as tacky as it sounds. Only drawing characters standing or sitting from another characters POV get boring fast.

Not gonna make fun of you for being ESL, but if you have to ask it's best Not to bother with it. For those who draw furry art, yes you can still earn money for commissions. But if you're good at your craft doesn't matter the subject you can make said cash no problem.
Obviously, in your case you suck at art and instead of asking if there's money involved, post work so we can help you improve. Otherwise, study more Loomis.

thats good! my best advice is look into “blocking” and “blocking out”. values are the most difficult to really get with round, non-planar forms, and a lot of forms can be made more geometric snd planar. thats kinda the point of bargues references and stuff like that one angular face lighting model. focus on the darkest darks and lightest lights first before approaching the midtones and halftones; you can make really appealing, interesting, and dynamic art with just two values.

>> No.6955007

>>6954997
Hmm! Thank you! I always heard about working light to dark and vice versa, but I often get the order confused depending on what I'm doing. And also forgive the confusion, I already got the notional space box and the shadow block-ins on a different layer, then I used the blending tool on the main layer. And also I don't know how the blending tool works. I just picked up digital last month and still figuring my way around, my bad.

>> No.6955024

>>6955007
Don't worry about it; blending is honestly the hardest and most opaque part of the process to both do and learn so I don't blame you. I think when growing up we all smear our pencil sketches and call it something like "shading", which is really just smearing the values together. There's a lot of dogma vehemently against using blending tools for that reason, but its still useful and something I use when smoothing out a soft transition or sculpting out a rounded form. I also use procreate and the smear tool is pretty simple, just use a variety of brushes with the tool and see which gives you the best and most appealing results. Try to be reserved and directed and intentional with your use of it, hard transitions between different planes should remain hard, and your values should stay clearly defined between lights and darks. Also, try stuff like hatching, using a limited number of grayscale tones in value studies, and other stuff like that as exercises from time to time. I'm still learning myself and haven't even really gotten to painting in color all that much

Not a lot of the other generals are like this, maybe the drawthreads but that's it. As I've said, this general is my biggest motivation for me to get out of permabeg hell. Wait for me, senseis. You'll all see.

Thanks anon. I’m not sure what her background is. She’s a character I was commissioned for a nsfw comic a buddy of mine asked me to draw for him.

Thank you too anon. Brush I use for my sketches is an edited “Peppermint” on procreate. I just lowered the brightness mostly to get a more dense pencil look
