Ehhyy Tsutomi nihei, great taste, I would work on facial structure more but at the same time BLAME! is not the best manga to study that from as I think it's about the only real weakness of the art for that manga

Maybe also a bit of figure drawing as the anatomy for some of the bodies feels "stubby" if that makes sense? Looks nice so far though

I know you're pretty far into it, and you got some feedback from other anons, but I'd do something like this. I think the it makes the twist of the torso not as pronounced. It helps to soften and simplify the curves a bit. Hope it helps.

The anatomy is hard because it's a very coomer brain pose to show the butt and breasts at the same time but here's my attempt, I think you did better this time with the neck/shoulders and torso but the face and eyes seem a bit lop sided. Hope this helps, wishing you luck and let me know if this body doesn't fit your style, might be too slender for what you're going for?

Thanks. This is the character standing up for body reference. I still believe in being able to figure out how to show booba and ass at the same time. I'll keep working on it, and you're right about the face too. It might be worth a third redraw if I can't fix this one.

Ribbons for sure, without them the piece is too monotone and not interesting.

I feel like even with ribbons, the foreground character is blending into the background? See if you can increase the brightness/saturation of his shirt, or give him a rimlight or something.

Are the eyes of the monster supposed to be glowing? If so I feel like the light ought to be way stronger.

Also - for superheroes you typically exaggerate the proportions - massive shoulders, smaller head, strong chin. Nose to chin / eyes to nose ratio should be somewhat greater than it is now.

Mostly anatomy, everything will sit on top of that base so take your time establishing the planes of the form. contre jour kind of light can benefit from some ambient light playing in the shadows, after all that's 90% of your illustration, so push the difference a little bit with value contrast so it looks less flat, it's easier said than done so that's why you carefully group your values and then soften them while keeping that structure, also tighten up that light more, it's simple but it looks too messy right now.
Also be careful with those cross hatching like marks, whatever the intent is try to have them play around the form and not break it, this is happening on the chest and on his left forearm.
Lastly focusing on design will give it an extra push, and that's more personal but it binds with the previous things, do you want this character to look closer to the actor? or do you want to have more of a say on what that should look? you can exaggerate some of his anatomy or make some of his facial features more unique, people who do caricatures understand this sort of instinctively so if you're feeling that you're on that "eh, it looks ok I guess" stage ask yourself what can you do for the image to stand out, even people who stick to the original ref will focus on that with small details, but that requires closer observation to your ref, use it as a guide but don't be its slave, the original comic has its own visuals, even if you're referencing him you can push for that "uniqueness" too, even face expression can do a lot for an image as it tells us about the character and how to feel about the piece, so take advantage of it.

Anyone else felt like drawing basic shapes and 3d objects is a lot harder on a tablet, than with pen and paper?
I feel like I do everything from circles to sticking to perspective in digital a lot worse.
I guess I should just grind more boxes and shit, but it feels like I'm doing something wrong.
I'm trying to figure out doing basic prop art shit but ugh.
