It's so transparently stupid to gamify art learning like this, but what kills me is that it works. Bored normies looking to casually learn a new skill eat it up. They think if they just put in 5 years diligently following the rules, they're going to draw like an academic, when the reality is art learning is not as programmatic and systemized as schools would have you believe.
We seriously need art literacy classes for the young, not to make everyone agree necessarily, but to get people up to speed on some basic fucking things - how art is made, why artists made the choices they did, etc. People are actually spending real money on this, spending thousands of dollars, and realizing the train is never going to arrive.
