4 days behind schedule. Lost my ADHD medication temporarily because of an insurance issue and suddenly can’t stay on task or do anything. Busiest week of the month and I’m stuck without dopamine. I used my shiny metallic crayons to color to make me feel better. What a world. I’m not going to give up.

For trad if I want a straight line I draw from the elbow, not the wrist. Also look at where you want the pencil to stop, don’t watch where it’s going.
For digital, the program handles that when necessary, otherwise follow same instructions as above.

So far I’ve drawn all the figures from imagination but since I’m so behind I thought I’d speed up the process and draw from reference. Maybe your goal is too big. I managed to finish Inktober because having 30 drawings by November was my only goal - these drawing, I decided, can be as simple, sketchy, quick etc. as they need to be for me to be able to finish the challenge.

Same, that’s why I’m forcing myself to finish no matter what. It’s called “ego denial”. I learned it from a neuroscience podcast hosted by Andrew Huberman. Even with adhd I think I can still strengthen my brain muscle.
One thing that’s helped me is to let myself mess up. Usually messing up makes me freeze and with pen there’s no going back. But it’s helped me overcome toxic perfectionism a little bit. Like on this one I could have made the fire better and the neck is messed up, BUT it’s done anyways so moving on. It’s kind of freeing in a way.

I finished this year but like a week late, but i did watercolor for each drawing which was a major challenge for me. But i think the fact that these were supposed to be fast sketches without much commitment was really helpful it breaking that barrier.
