this is a video from a professional animator showing his sketchbooks from when he was studying to become one when he was in his late 20s (he says this period was probably when he was 28 years old).
the first book he shows is full of imagination drawings and some anime copies. the second book is full of photograph studies of everything from people to vehicles to ancient architecture, as well as still life drawings of objects around the house. the next books are filled with copies from, in order:

super dessan people 2: basic actions by tsuruoka takao
the "it's fun to draw people" website
the basics are simple figure drawing by hiroyuki uchida
the dennou coil genga collection
drawing the head and hands by andrew loomis
the art of animal drawing by ken hultgren
then there's a bunch of studies trying to study anime frame-by-frame and more general anime copies, and he ends by showing his shitty high school drawings.
this is it. this is how you get good. it's not redrawing entire figure drawing books and it's not copying anime and it's not quick sketches and it's not studying photographs. it's all of it. you have to do all of it. this is the final redpill. if you want to get good, you have to do all of it.
