Use the provided template and show us what inspires your art style. Could be art/music/nature
or whatever. If you like it, then post it here.

Posting mine to start the thread. I really like cute expressive kinds of art and something that blurs the line between anime/cartooney styles. I couldn't fit on my map but I also like the style of PASWG, TMS animation, and vintage archie comics.

Would you mind posting your work too, anon? I love seeing how artists favorites influences their own work, but if not that's cool too.
I'll get mine done and post it in a bit.

Rumiko Takahashi has very good line economy. I've never read Urusei Yatsura, but in Inuyasha at least she has an almost calligraphic feel to her lines. And of course, many of the non-elven looking demon designs are straight from classical Japanese paintings.

But I am shy, anon!

Also I forgot to put Alexandre Cabanel and William-Adolphe Bouguereau in my list!! :C

I think I need a more definitive list of my anime influences though since I can only think of one off the top of my head (one extremely-skilled anon from here actually inspires me a lot. It feels a bit embarrassing to admit)! Textured, painterly styles never cease to inspire me!!!

I'd make one of these, but my work looks nothing like the stuff I'm influenced by. I'm still a fumbling /beg/ who can barely draw a face properly, so there's no point in making one

Even if your art isn't how you want it to look just yet, it's a fun exercise and it helps to focus your
studies more instead of aimless grinding. So I'd still recommend making one at least for yourself so you have a guide of sorts.

I guess the art that takes up bigger squares vaguely corresponds to who inspires me the most. Roughly speaking anyway.

I generally prefer muted colours and strong line art, hatching and outlines. I do also like the colouring style of Hades. Coloured hatching is also very nice but I don't know how to colour outside of filling with the paint bucket.

AI trash, in different forms, has done more to light a fire under my ass and get me creating things than anything else in a decade. I've done physical oil paintings based on AI trash. Song lyrics and background lore based on AI trash characters. I saw AI trash Saria and thought at first it was a real /3/-type creation because I had no /3/ knowledge. Now I'm working with blender to make my own N64-tier characters. AI trash helps with my TTRPG worldbuilding. 99.9% of the art community hates AI trash, but I fucking love this stuff. Stay mad :)
