The body is so squared off, like a box. I'd say really play with the Pelvis and Hips more and understand how they connect with each other. Anatomy studies should help with that in understanding how that should work out, and then understanding how to push both those shapes so it doesn't look like a box body that you have going on there.

Sorry, didn't see the image from now. But understand that good coloring cannot save a bad drawing, but bad coloring won't ruin a good drawing. While color is nice, the drawing itself needs to look good for the color to actually stand out.

Not >>6812985 anon but the anon who redlined it before. I literally did give you an example on how to fix the perspective and you brushed it off.

>>/ic/thread/6721898#p6743636

The angle of the hips is way off compared to the perspective of the camera. It's way too stiff as well. It kinda looks like they're leaning on a backrest that doesn't exist. If they're supposed to be supported by the box to the right, tilt the rib and the shoulders more. The left leg (from our perspective) is also way too large compared to the body, even if you account for perspective.

Shading wise, the hips are way too boxy. Also, if the shadow of the left arm (from our perspective) is that large, then it should cast a shadow on the torso. I'd also suggest shading the neck a bit more rounded. (Also, include the trapezius muscle - the muscles around the clavicle don't shunt to the neck at that right of an angle.) You also forgot the shadow on the left thumb.

Color wise, I do loike the color palette though the double multiply layer shading's a bit rough. Add a soft light layer at 30% to soften the edge or add ambient occlusion. And as a last thing, I don't know if it's a design choice but seeing stripes on one arm and dots on the rest of the body's a bit jarring.

Solid start on animation. Keep it up, learn anatomy, and you'll do wonders.

It's been a while since I've drawn much aside from practice, but I'm back in the saddle now and working on another attempt at a drawing. I tried to exaggerate her hips more this time around and I think it helped quite a bit. There's still lots of chicken scratching here because I've changed and tweaked this a lot, but I plan to fix that by doing a final inking layer once I'm finished making changes.

I had a lot of difficulty drawing plantigrade feet and have had tons of trouble with her hands. There's probably a lot of other issues I've gone blind to as well. If anyone has any tips for how I should tweak this before inking they are super appreciated!

>>6812714
you fucked up the anatomy really bad, you had your reference >>6813456 but didn't actually make the exercise of using it as a reference, i know is weird to said but is a common problem, for example the reference already suggests solutions to the hips-pelvis-rib cage joints but instead of using them as reference you just plain draw the box a made bad joints in all the core body. One easy way to solve that, the part of not taking the reference correctly, is sketching the pose reference to get the joints, you can do it in your style and whatever, the point is to take the reference as what it is, a guide that help you to solve things that you can't by yourself for the moment.
It doesn't matter if the reference is "good" or not, it does matter if you're using the solutions you're supposed to be looking for when looking for the reference in the first place, because if you don't use them, there's no point in you using one.

if you are playing with the thickness of the lines then i suggest you to just had fun and try many things and just enjoy the try and error process.
Look for other artists, ink works, linearts, comic panels, things like that, a see how they made them, dont copy them just look and think "ah, they make the lines bigger in the arm when__", "oh, the line in the neck and eyes are like that and in the rest of the face are like that", and try to apply that.

i dont much about the animal anatomy but plantigrade legs aren't just regular human legs but instead of bend back at the knees the bend forward? and the feet is the same shape they are just bigger, i dont remember well but some people just draw the feets like if they are
stand on the tiptoes, but is just that, maybe you can try the first version since is more easy. Keep it up anyway, looks good.

Plantigrade legs stand on their feet, like humans. I think you meant digitigrade. And no, digi legs don't bend in any opposite direction. Horses, for example, have the same construction of their legs as we do, for the most part, and every joint bends in the same direction. The difference is, with most digi animals, they have shorter tibia, or simply longer tarsals/tarsal equivalent.

>you fucked up the anatomy really bad, you had your reference but didn't actually make the exercise of using it as a reference
And I fucked it up with style and put an animation over it. I didn't want to use it 1:1 because I had my own idea and messed up the joints in the process, because the horizon line was way too high in the refrence. It was fun doing it and I would 100% fail again because that's how you learn and yall are pretty eager to show me anyway... Thanks to all the critique from everyone btw :)

Does digital furry art, but done in a way that emulates traditional art counts? I've been experimenting with it lately, pic related, and I really like it so far!

...though I am a bit worried about finding people who like this sort of thing. I want to do more furry porn commissions and I'm not if this style will sell.

Learn principles. Learn construction. Start simple. Read some books on the subject, and check out video courses. Share your work and ask for critique. Aaron Blaise, a veteran disney animator, offers a small video course covering the basic principles for just $10 on his website. You can probably find others in the video courses thread.

I am by no means an expert, but trust me when I say it's all about breaking things down and working up from there. Mad lad animators can do complex forms from the get go because they built that speed through experience.

Mine is self-made in CSP, it sprays many particles to make the pencil texture. I wanted something that can be drawn very lightly and wide for shade fill if needed, so it's somewhat sensitive to tilt as well as pressure.
