What are some western comics artists you feel would appeal to anime/manga fans outside of obvious ones like Moebius or Mike Mignola?
Specifically looking for art styles that share a lot of the strengths of manga art without being directly anime styled/influenced.
I am a manga reader primarily, and while there have been graphic novels and comics series I've really enjoyed like Sandman and Hellboy, in general I find a shitton of western comics art really unappealing (especially anything from the 2000s onward).
Not wanting to start another east vs. west shitfest btw, I'm just looking for recommendations.

Daniel Warren Johnson and James Harren. They're obviously influenced by manga, but retain enough western influence not to fall into weeaboo territory.

I've always liked the art for spirou & fantasio, the original smurfs comics by peyo are also good,
and anything drawn by kerascoet is fantastic (Beauty being one of my favourites).

I am a Manga fan, I have downloaded the following for their art:
- I Hate Fairyland;
- Mélusine;
- Monster Allergy;
- Jolies Ténèbres

Daniel Clowes seems to have become more obscure as of late, despite his impact on the industry. People seem to so rarely mention him nowadays.

I wish Bruce Timm did more comic work that wasn't superhero related. His shit is so good. That said, his superhero comics are still very appealing.

Not sure if it isn't but I'd guess Hazbin Hotel, and 90's/00's Cartoon Network stuff like Billy & Mandy, Dexter's Lab, PPG, Courage type stuff. Perhaps the Disney Channel shows like Gravity Falls and The Owl House. And I guess The Teenage Robot from Nickelodeon. It's mainly animation that I mention, but those are the Western Cartoon art styles that I think appeal to Asians as well. Picrel is fanart of Hazbin Hotel.
