How do you avoid being discouraged or demoralized as a /beg/, especially a late starting one?
I draw every day but sometimes looking at my own work makes me disapointed. I keep drawing regardless but I feel shitty all the time while doing it.

I personally got through the beginner phase by just doing figure drawing every day. I had a set routine: 30 minutes of figure drawing, no matter what. I didn't have to do anything after that. I would throw away my figures right after, I wouldn't even get critique. The point is to build mileage and study time.

Eventually, you'll look down and realize you actually made something really good.

(I recommend doing an hour minimum, 30 minutes is quite slow)

I think this is purely a mental problem. You don't hate your drawings, you actually hate yourself. If you did not hate yourself, you would have more understanding for you.

It is similar to dating IMO. Many guys think, man I cant find a girlfriend, I'm a weirdo, I'm not like others, I am worse than everyone else, meanwhile there are chicks out there who are together with people that smell like actual shit.

Only solution is to be stay confident and dont be ashamed of your drawings, in fact share them with others.
