All three of them tell you to adapt figure drawing to your needs instead of sticking religiously to one way of doing it.

idk man I just draw. I also read through all of them really quickly, but i only read the part about gesture. Once you master gesutre and basic shapes/volumes you can literally draw everything, even from imagination, but I'm not at that level yet. Gesture is in everything around us, in trees, water, clouds, flowers, animals, fruits and plants. I think Brent eviston helped me the most, but I'm still shit and have to improve and practice alot.

>draw gestural lines that indicate the pose
>draw cuboid construction mannequin on top
>draw figure on top
>it looks like shit
>erase, redraw
>something looks off
>flip canvas
>spot error, erase, redo
>looks like shit
>erase, redraw
>repeat until I give up or am satisfied

Loomis is great for absolute beginners
Then Hampton helps flesh out some concepts
Never tried Vilppu so I can't comment
What kind of figure drawings are you trying to make? because honestly I just draw my method is

>Gesture
>add some volume + bones
>add boxes
>????
>keep adjusting until it looks good

I just to just go in all at once and sketch it then do the line art, things always looked off.

I try to guess where the lines should go based on a flawed understanding of the concept of contours. I then end up with an unrecognizable mess, wonder what I could do differently next time, and come up with nothing.

>According to Ovid, when Pygmalion saw the Propoetides of Cyprus practicing prostitution, he began "detesting the faults beyond measure which nature has given to women". He determined to remain celibate and to occupy himself with sculpting. He made a sculpture of a woman that he found so perfect he fell in love with it.
