Leuca. While Ormund had some great interactions with his team the actual tactics and fight against Leuca were fairly straightforward. Leuca meanwhile engaged in a method to overcome her foe using unique creativity and it was pretty funny.

Senna. Incredible framing and art evolution, really brought the a-game for this last round. Mike got me with the random bullshit line the fight just wasn't as engaging.

Fernando. Not to discount Janitor's usage of animation and dedication to keeping the clown a bit demented, but from what I know of Fernando as a character if he can make a joke of you getting physically harmed he will, and the cigarette explosive was really inspired.

>Cannon Girl vs Nathan Higgs
It took some long consideration but I think Nathan's barely clips a win for me. The whole match feels like a wrestling extravaganza and the ending made me kek. Cannon Girl's entry was fairly strong for a bit but the ending was a bit plain to the rest of the comic.

SRU, on merit that his entry really digs deep into the druid talents Paulus has and goes ham on the fight. Paulus continues to make me laugh out of his sheer audacity and I want to also mention I appreciate his tradlad ways.

>Bellboy Vs Abigail
I'm team Abigail here. A lot of Bellboy's entry really built up the flytrap nature of his existence which I loooove but it feels like pulling Lustless in detracted from having more focus on Abby even if I have a feeling it was to fairly balance the fight in her favor. Abigail retreated into a level of audacity and even had a joke where the fight was declared 'noncanon' that got a bark of a laugh out of me.

Merachne. The entry understands Outtake a bit more than Outtake understands Merachne as a character. The art I also adore, the brushwork is very nice.

Kevin. I really love the suspense built up in it and the style the comic is in, atmosphere is pretty great. Contestros feels really simple in comparison which is unfortunate, because I don't think the effort was bad, just matched against something with some crazy ambition.

Phenomenally hard to choose. I think after a very long consideration I have to pick Carolyn, it's a full narrative and has all the emotional beats. Chuckson's can not be understated as phenomenal in its own right though.

>Chadwick vs Alaisa
Alasia. Gus did deliver a great project as usual but I was completely gripped by Alasia's story. The coin, the game, and more delightfully Chadwick's own personality were stellar. The comic changing from color to b/w was a great mood shift.

>Turtloli vs Bear
Turtloli. Bear's has an interesting narrative but it's hard to follow and I had to read it twice to really get what was going on. Turtloli is a bit clearer and pretty charming.

>Pauline vs Maiden-4
Maiden-4. The narrative of her being disguised and even giving Pauline tips despite her being so over her head was a really nice touch. Pauline had great art and I did feel for her too so it really came down to a matter of execution for the idea.

Princess Dex. There's an emotional core to the issue of the fight between the two and addresses that Lustless isn't very prepared for this kind of match (with a solution coming out later on where she stands on her own feet). It's a cool evolution. Lustless is fairly engaging in the journey before the match but the match itself I didn't find as compelling.

>Clown Girl vs Boberon
Boberon. Clown Girl suffers from the same issue as Cannon Girl in that the star is strong but the end is weak. Boberon somehow created that animation when he has a broken arm and it was absolutely stellar (I need to follow whatever site he posts on because wow)

>Berlo vs Tammy Mato
Tammy. I enjoyed the running gag and the length did eclipse Berlo's. A good thing I can say about Berlo was the sheer simplicity of him just splatting her.

>Scrimblo and Friends vs Amy
Amy. I like that she basically enlists the Scrimblos into participating in crimes for fun and they hang out. A shame the Scrimblos lost bits of their entry but what I saw looked like it was shaping up, sorry again to them for that loss.

Vivian. The two took me a bit to think over but overall Vivian's really grips into making it a brutal fight, and the reveal that she dumped all that alcohol into the fucked up sprout did elicit a gasp of surprise from me, I wasn't expecting it.

As much as I want to vote for the absolutely goated CHADwick, Alaisa's delivery was just impeccably solid. The narrative was great and the theme ties it all together into a cohesive bundle. It's just wonderful. That's not to say that Chadwick's entry isn't great however. Even though he elected to keep the entry silent and wordless, you can still feel the sheer visciousness of Chadwick even just through his actions. Plus his composition is great too.

What matters is the story you want to tell, it's up to you to decide if art-skills are necessary for you to convey stuff. Just saying "do some studies" would be too much of an easy answer, so the best I can recommend to you is to just enjoy the process of drawing and trying new stuff

Ormand entry was pretty fucking good, with some lines that cracked me up a little too much. I think this is your best entry so far, and your growth has been amazing.

Ormand: Funny intro with some charming teaminteraction. Liked the shots of his family dunking on him, poor kid. Nice action as well, pretty clear and readble for the most part, conveyed the fight well with a good back and forth between the pair -- kick to the knee looked painful.

Leuca: Really liked the pschological approach and the gradual bullying, perfect for Ormand's character. The various other members were fun too, really enjoyed the dex/alasia/amy panel. Also Leuca's behaviors were pretty endearing this round, tactical antics aside, the stomp-communication, silent laughing, sadistic poking of a screaming Ormand, various stares, were nice. Lots of convincing character interaction too, your teammates were great. Overall, funny and definitely a cleverly unorthodox approach to Leuca's hunt.


Mike: Mike definitely came across as the ever-quipping action star. Although sometimes hard to root for his cocky personality, I think overall his dialogue worked fairly well. Senna seemed to be pretty nicely handled as well, with a lot of great examples of her abilities throughout the fight. The action was pretty well done, particularly like the panel with Mike's roundhouse kick.

Senna: Nice depiction of Senna's creepier side, the art works to its advantage. The gunfight was good, albeit briefer than I would've liked, but it did give some nice punchy action between our fighters. Senna's futile attempt to take a cheap shot at the GM was pretty amusing, if only she had secured the win with Mike first, even for an eldritch being getting too hasty is risky.

Janitor: Janitor's weary demeanor never gets old, and putting a cocky, if deranged, kid in his place is always a good setup. Janitor getting put with wackier characters works well with his down to earth commentary. The way you portrayed Fernando worked well, his faces were great and overall wigglyness fitting. Action was pretty well executed, and the animations added nicely to the impact of things. Liked the wrestling finish and Janny's judgement of mercy for the clinically insane.

Fernando: Beautiful as always, the sea of inky tar around the arena provides a great atmosphere, and the characters are both depicted wonderfully. Janitor's dialogue was perfect, both fitting to the character and just really captured the mood like the visuals. The scuffle at the start reads clearly, and the cigarette trick (on both sides) was a clever, again very fitting, and very satisfying ending.


Cannon Girl: Lots of funny panels, particularly with your teammates, and a good fight. Did Nathan justice, his nonchalant demeanor even when getting his shoulder blown away was great, and the fireman line was choice. The flashback sequence to bring her back to reality hit the mark, and coming back to her happy-go-lucky, yet unrelentingly tough self was a charm.

Nathan Higgs: Awesome, the wrestling approach was perfect for Nathan, and I loved how cannongirl was swole to match. Bunch of great expressions and poses, delivered on the intensity of action and the humor of two rippling mounds of muscle going at it in the most hot blodded and extravagant of ways. Really did good by cannongirl, loved how quickly she'd pop back up after a pummeling, and her overall attitude seemed to me to be dead on. Her progression through her stages and trying to adapt to "Nathan's" style was solid.

Paulus: Paulus looking sharp with that fresh trim. Liked the character interactions, and Paulus's face of disgust at Abby's exhibitionism. Paulus' moment with Wietse is pretty nice too. Seeing Paulus in action is pretty satisfying, regrowing from spores and using gnomish trickery to control SRU into grooming the arena's garden was great. Hope Paulus can get back to enjoying a quiet life soon.

SRU: Great action, really fun sequence between SRU and the enduring force of nature Paulus embodies. Really liked the fungus golem angle too, pretty neat way to make it brawl. Love the shots of the teammates and other characters, lots of fun quips. A very satisfying finale too, very clever way to deal with the regenerative threat, a perfect finisher for SRU. Hope that uppercut didn't send him as far as it looks, even with SRU's build quality I'm not sure he'd withstand the barrier preventing combatants from exiting the bucket.


Bellboy: Fantastic work. Very pretty take on Abby, and overall a really pleasing art style throughout -- loved the stylistic choices for the atmosphere, the presentation of the characters, all great. The "mindfuck" approach of bellboy really came to the forefront here and was awesome, led to some really neat visuals and dialogue while remaining coherent. The broader consistency between comics was pretty cool too, and I loved the introduction of Lustless again, fitting and well executed magical girl. Easily one of my favorite entries in the tournament, really well done.

Abby: A shotgun to the face has a knack for solving many problems in life, and it seems like it could be one of Abby's preferred methods. Nice combat, and Bellboy's frustration at a mind-bending monster like himself falling to a good old fashioned butt kicking is great. Abby's persistent bad attitude is a real charm too.

Merachne: Unexpectedly somber approach, but very fitting for both characters. Albeit simple, I like the visual representation of Outtake here, it's a pretty interesting look and meshes well with Merachne's melancholic atmosphere. While the action was minimal, the locked in a stalemate for eons due to the rather simple "conflict of wills" was amusing.

Outtake: Simple but sweet, a goofy brawl between the two is a nice contrast to their personalities. Liked Outtake's head popping off too. Wish we could've seen the artstyle you came into the tournament with exercised here though.


Balkari: Excellent job, taking on everyone was a pretty broad task but I think you handled it great. Most everyone gets their bit done justice, and the fighting itself is clear, entertaining, and frequently funny. Nice to really see Balkari in action too considering it being her area of expertise. I was actually concerned Akio's portion might end up getting a bit snubbed, but honestly I think it came out great, both the intro and outro. Touching to see Balkari feeling vulnerable, even if her way of coping with it is violence to the nth degree, she's a real lovable character.


Kevin: Crazy stuff, really took it up a notch here. The art is great, and it's very easy to follow this time around. The initial battle between Kev and Contestro was solid, and Contestro was handled pretty well, his flamethrower was great. It managed to keep it in gear as it went off the rails too, pretty brutal at times. Seeing the struggles to try and contain him after GM's meddling was neat, and dragon lady ending things was excellent, really liked that.

Contestro: Giant robot vs giant lizard monster, a battle for the ages. Nice action here, even with the sketchiness, and some great poses by Contestro. Contestro's refusal of Berbie's call was hilarious, and that finisher was sick.

I feel like this is a weird vote, but the impromptu gay sex entertained me more than total universe destruction. The build-up with Lustless visiting other teams was also lots of fun, overall it was characteristically Lustless. Dex was much cleaner but also more drawn out, felt kinda flat in a few places.

ORMAND vs LEUCA
A very close call one. Leuca's indirect approach to winning was pretty funny and refreshing. I'm not exactly sure who was murdered by the end, but either way I am always in for Ormand suffering. However I have to give it to Ormand. The improvement in both art and writing for this final stage was, I dare to say, the most noticeable in the entire tournament and the jokes (she can't talk!) really landed. Him going through a breakdown at being matched against a demon hunter was also really endearing, poor kid.

MIKE vs sENNA
Tough call again but ultimately I decided Mike was winning too much (I'm kidding). I really liked the end of the Mike Fight with the gravity hole and them hanging from the walls. In terms of fighting, the Mike delivery felt more like a complete fight, but I ended up prefering senna's approach and visuals (a few were just visceral), as well as the ending. she really tried there lol, truly the slipknot of CRAB.

Can you believe that I think Fernando has some of the most compelling art of this entire thing and yet I never voted for him. Janny just has too much carisma, and the animations slaughtered me while being at the same time incredibly cool. I find funny that both had a gay moment playing pretty much exactly the same. Fernando almost had it with the cigar trick but ultimately being honest with my heart means voting for the Janny.

CANNON GIRL vs NATHAN
Nathan gave me an entire encyclopedia of wrestling (perhaps too much, I would cut down the entry for a smoother fight) and for days I can't get over the "Keep counting" moment, to the point I commented it to friends (they didn't get it, fuck them). I also really loved how he despicted the Cannon Girl transformations. But Cannon Girl entry felt far more climatic and had a great mix of humor and gravitas. Edgy or not, her transformation felt quite final boss tier. It also featured Oliver, which makes me question why are we even allowed to have an opinion for this.

PAULUs vs sRU
sRU hit with, in my opinion, probably the best fight of the tournament in terms of actual combat (though Bernard and Dragon lady come close). super fun finisher, and I really loved the despiction of Paulus. A lot to me hinges on how one despicts the opponents (which I admit I didn't do well this round myself), and sRU took care to make Paulus seem incredibly hard to put down and scary, yet to come around with an imaginative ending. Also, the writing has definitely improved, as I had no trouble following this fight at all while the previous entry required a lot of squinting and rereading from my part. Paulus entry was funny but I cannot help but feel it meanders, even though there was an effort to give room to the opponent this time.
Enjoying the spa arc too.

BELLBOY vs ABIGAIL
Really loved the DOOM approach from Abigail and the humor, you know a tone hits when you begin hearing the theme music in your mind as you read. Bellboy won in terms of scope and art (that is one delightful Abby), and I really loved how his goal was in a way unrelated to the tournament, made it feel like a personal arc but I agree including Lustless made the balance shift too much away from the opponent.

MERACHNE vs OUTTAKE
Merachne's art is ethereal. It feels like I am gazing upon another world. The part with everyone waiting was fun too, ultimately, I think there was more thought and care for the opponent put into it (I did not imagine Merachne would be one to jump for the kill). Outtake's entry despite this gotta say gave me a chuckle.

AKIO vs BALKARI
I'll consider Fat Balkari Akio's entry.
since I have been doomed with being the only one with no match here I'll just use this space to ramble about my entry, feel free to skip.

First of all, my intention was to lose. Mainly because I thought unfair for voting that I despicted every single crab (I think that puts people in your favor), which took screemtime from Akio. While I don't think I failed in my despiction of Akio, the goal of this was a fight and I went for a wholesome ending that impeded me putting to shine his abilities. Not that it matters anymore as it seems Balkari truly can never lose. On an unrelated note, I was worried about how it would read to just despict characters for Balkari to punch but I think people took it well, and I tried to despict their personalities and some feats along the way. Either way Balkari being strong, the point of my entry is, means very little in the long run. As a side note, a few characters didn't get to appear much, simply because I would not be sure how she would deal with them (srU or Vivian are examples).

I am thankful to this tournament to give me a chance to "close" Balkari's arc given how unlikely is I will put on paper her actual story. More of her in the epilogue if we survive this.

KEVIN vs CONTEsTRO
For Contestro. I salute him for the "no one disqualifies Collostro" line, that shit got my mad respect, fuck the rules. It was short and brutal and you were fighting in two fronts. Yet Kevin's entry triumphed, decisively one of my favorites from the tournament. Funnily enough one of the aspects I loved a lot from Kevin's entry was Contestro himself, the scene where Kevin rips his arm and he laughs before activating the sawblades, the lunging forward for the flame thrower, the gun, it really seemed to say that the little robot would have decimated the fight had it played in normal conditions for Kevin. Then after that the outright horror-segment with Kevin attacking the other contestants was incredible, poor Tammy, poor Wietse, based Cannongirl lol, and of course I loved the Balkari cameo (did she just kick him THROUGH the impenetrable cage?) and man that foot getting pretty much skinned injury fucked me up to see.

My only critique would be that some scenes I had to reread a couple times to get. Why? Because of overreliance on very close shots. Close shots are great for reactions and fear but can be confusing to establish scenes.
Even so definitely a favorite.

BERNARD vs DRAGON LADY
May I start by saying I love Bernard's voice? I am reading the comic and now I will definitely hear him that way.
You guys did a fantastic work. Complete animation in some part, some exciting action, small bits (like DL smashing the vehicle to deactivate the glider), and even the talking interactions felt justified as he was buying time. Even more for Bernard, it felt to me that it managed to complete an "arc", something a few participants here have done with their characters and something that its great to see, seeing the man stand for his convictions over everything was excellent. Definitely one of the best objectively (agree some could have been streamlined but even so there is a lot to take from it).

CHUCKsON vs CAROLYN
I voted Carolyn.
I voted Carolyn fully imagining Chuckson would win. If I saw everyone voting for Carolyn, I'd call them insane, because what Chuckson did goes far beyond the scope I give to crab. That videogame was incredible, out of the left field, it really managed to touch me in the end (when the flashback doors hit I gasped). I think not enough can be said of the level of effort and love put into it, as well as the respect for the opponent given how Carolyn-focused it is.
But the reason I voted for my favorite jobber is because I personally loved the entry, and think Carolyn has been snubbed from a win since the start by virtue of being matched with incredible opponents (not counting myself, Bear failed her there, Bear, you need to buy her a drink). I kept wanting to see her win. And while she did not, she managed to deliver a complete arc story that put her previous entries even into a better light. The entry really made me feel bad for her and I'm hoping she sees some light after it.

CHADWICK vs ALAIsA
I long to see the full Gus entry. The one delivered was eggcellent nonetheless, seeing the other participants brawl was a delight altogether, but the ending felt somewhat anticlimatic. Alaisa entry made me like the shortie a lot, her final lines to Chadwich before winning were great, very climatic like, and the despiction of Chadwick as a villain was wonderful too, particularly his face when she choses to defend Berbie and his jumping into battle. I also enjoyed seeing the peeks to her homelife and the references to Crab 1 (Balding Genes run in her family). I gotta say however that despite me voting for Alaisa, it also feels like I am playing into Gus hand here as he clearly has cemented Chadwich as a sort of complete antagonist in this whole ordeal.

TURLOLI vs BEAR
Had two issues with these entries. Turtoli is incredibly charming and fun... but felt incomplete by the end of it. Bear felt more complete, but for once I had a LOT of trouble reading it. I am a blind motherfucker and the very faint pen traces there made me throw up my arms quite often in frustration. With that said once I managed to get it, I loved the idea, Bear summoning a monster by accident and everyone having to deal with it was really fun. Then again, it also felt a bit too unfinished art-wise. Either way despite my scathing critiques these two are definitely some of the most soul in the entire tournament.

Incredible entries on both sides. Maiden-4 had me wheezing ("Do you intend to become an heroine of prophecy?") and I absolutely loved to see Bon despict the Tea Party training and interacting. The face reveal also shocked me, you were really saving that bomb for the last huh? And I will never, ever, ever get over Maiden-4 being blonde.
Pauline's entry matched it, while it felt more serious and dramatic, it has some moments that made me laugh ("I guess a gun wasnt all that unreasonable", and her strongest form being holding a gun once) and had more of that "finale" gravitas. I loved how both entries recognized the disparity of the match up and instead of rejecting it dwelled on it to deliver. Though roughly matched two aspects (three if we don't count my contractual obligation to vote for my team partners) made me pick Pauline 1. The "darkness" scene with her pushing as the Maiden memories play was probably the most enthralling and beautiful of this whole round, and 2. Maiden even lost in her own entry, while Pauline managed to secure a win that didn't feel unearned. Truly Tea Party's secret weapon.

LUsTLEss vs PRINCEss DEX
Lustless delivered a really fun, and breather-like entry that to me had an MTV live show vibe, just contestants fucking around (and each other), and Lustless is definitely a star of this whole thing. Despite my team allegiance I was very close to voting for this one (Balkari cameo always buys me, and Maiden with Chuckson buys me even more, but I ended up surprised at the scope of a plot that Dex put in her story; made an entertaining fight that went full circle, with a completely shocking ending (like really, who can beat a fully powered Dex?). That was an incredible final move. My only critique to Dex would be that this could have been streamlined into far less panels by simply shortening it and not despicting too much of Dex thoughts.

Clown Girl entry was short, and nice.
Boberon entry was short, and incredible. Definitely a top tier artist in here, that was really smooth and well handled, Boberon remains the powerhouse of Chads.

I loved the brutal and short entry Berlo made. I am of the belief more entries should be of the sort.
But Tammy got me laughing with the scam jokes and the payoff to the button joke. I also loved to see her try properly after the previous entry being less of an attempt, and that was a pretty cute Tammy too.

scrimblo got shit on by adobe, but I really liked what we got to see. seeing amy using her powers like some kind of castlevania villain was very cool, loved the way she was despicted there and would have loved to see the full product.
Amy's entry was short and delightful, put a real smile on my face, helped by the meta aspect of her coming back for it thanks to spar (thanks for that) to deliver. Let it be known Amy > Turtoli in crab elementary school pecking order. The end with them stealing booze was also precious.

VIVIAN vs JED
Man this one was tough to vote. Jed is a total badass in both entries, and in his it was hype as hell when he dropped the games and started trouncing Vivian... Ultimately I had to respond to myself what I was voting for, my favorite character or the best entry? And with that in mind, Vivian's entry with the fire had more of an "even" battle between them and a climatic showdown. As I said before cutting to their talk before they smile and go for a final clash really did it for me, it felt like two good friends fighting in a sense. I also commend both in terms of the action despicted, another contender for one of the best fights in the sense of them being proper fights.

animation, but I did not enjoy watching this because of the writing and dialogue. If it was a comic id skim parts and not bring it up but I felt tied to it because of the effort on display. I feel like its a house of cards built on
a poor foundation, like you knew the emotional beats you wanted to hit, but you did not have the connecting tissue to make it a satisfying story. I will not nitpick, but a pet peeve of mine
is when characters ask nonsensical questions no one would ask just so the other character has something to riff on that is semi-related. That shows the forced nature of the conversation, because the characters dont have

I'm going to be totally honest, I think my comic is better and don't feel ashamed saying it. Dex's comic is great for the first 1/3 or so, but it devolves into storyboards rather than comic panels and often times there is meaningless
text specifying exactly what characters are thinking with no room for interpretation. Other than that, the combat feels like the characters are having fun and messing around which isnt how I see the fight playing out even if I respect

I am going to be brutally honest here, at points I could not tell what was happening in Vivians comic. It is paradoxically colored (more effort) yet unfinished (scribly and visually unclear, muddled) and the dialogue is really bad even
though it aims higher with sentimentality. But Jeds comic was just badass all around. It was no bullshit, visually clear, high octane action, and my biggest compliment is it felt like a real fight, like I can see this happening
if they really foght. Well done, Im a Jed fan. Only criticism is Vivian could have been sexier in Jeds comic. You had a real beautiful woman there, and didnt highlight that, but I wont detract too hard.

So, I actually was gonna include way more characters from the actual tournament in the second half, but the thing is, I kinda started to run out of time, and the only thing I had done by that point was the first half, so most of the actual bucket parts got cut.
And the reason I included my other OCs in the plot was as a way to blatantly promote my comic. They were supposed to only play a much smaller part, but they ended up taking up most of it due to time.

Janny. Wins in his comic instead of a draw. Also, it was his strongest entry so far. Fernando as always with pleasant (but gay) artwork, earned my vote twice before, but Janny's art also has a lot of appeal in a different direction.

CG. Again, deliveries were outstanding compared to rounds 1/2. I can finally read the text on a Nathan comic! CG had colors and a more interesting story, with a weaker fight. Nathan had lots of poses and action, but narratively it just looped "How about this? Oh no! Then how about this? Oh no!", which is a bit boring. Powers that we never knew about being brought up. Regardless, I love the ending, 10/10.

SRU. Harder to follow this time, but still shows the overanalysis we've learned to enjoy. Issue: Paulus was the highlight of both comics. In his I had to fill in the blanks with my imagination, but was still nice to finally see his more serious side.

Abby. Bellboy had a lot of creativity and good art, but making Lustless the heroine kinda ruins the duel aspect for me. It was the better comic, but not the winner of this fight. For Abby I was expecting psychological warfare, but instead she muscled her way through, subverting my expecations. Unrealistic, but it grew on me, let her have her Rambo moment!

>Merachne/Outtake
Outtake. For once Outtake didn't devolve over time, he fully embraced the sketchiness, which made it more consistent and entertaining. Still lazy. Merachne had a downgrade and also left too much of the work to the reader, minus the humor.

DL (wins in the video). I am astounded by some of these scenes, which are definitely not easy to pull off. Overall, the project lacked efficient planning, it should feel "complete" during the animatic phase, which is done through sound and composition. For comparison, Manarchy had more ambiance due to that. The Herculean task of animating must come on top of, not instead of or before it. Still, an impressive feat for a month (with loose deadlines that certainly didn't help with properly planning ahead). I take my hat off.

>Shin Chuckson/Carolyn
Carolyn. Hard choice, honestly. Chuckson brought an amazing project that won't be topped easily in terms of effort, and told the story very efficiently. I played the game first, and I still understood all the drama points despite little dialogue. Carolyn had to use way more words, and the portrayal of Chuckson is too snarky/edgy, like the "evil jester" archetype, which doesn't fit. The humor felt out of place too, perhaps because the style suggests seriousness (or at least "World of Snark") from the start.
However, the paneling was a masterclass, and the art was really outstanding, the Doom mod is simpler for obvious reasons, so that gave Carolyn an advantage with the "wow" shots, especially the foreshortened/multilayered ones. And Carolyn's writing has improved a lot. Very close match, and as someone who voted against her twice, I can say am a last-minute convert. Well done.

>Sgt. Chadwick/Alaisa
Alaïsa. This time around there were no computer accidents, and I also struggled hard (artistically and existentially speaking) to come up with something I would be satisfied with. So, while Chad's art speaks a fair amount for itself, and I really like the depictions in the story, I delivered a more polished story/product. I grew a lot from reading your entries, your advice on my stuff and discussing round 3 with you, so I hope I made justice to your teachings!

Pauline. Hard decision at first, both stories were very well-written, but the forfeit makes it easy to me. Good job Pauline on finding ways to win while being weak, good job M4 on portraying Pauline as a formidable opponent and keeping it interesting. Only note goes to M4 not having much spotlight in her own comic, felt more like a villain.

Lustless. Compelling storytelling, unexpected paths, held back on coom. Art evolved a lot, although Round 1 is still my favorite for the humor. Dex's entry just feels disrespectful to me, I'm not reading all that.

Boberon. Grateful to Clowngirl for stepping in and keeping our team whole, very cute art. But Boberon gave us enough to munch on.

Tammy. Biggest evolution? Ormand. Biggest comeback? Our limbed fruit takes it. Funny, rushed the fight to self-indulge, but I enjoyed. Berlo didn't prepare for this much effort from our former two-pager.

My sole abstention. Not because I don't want to make a choice, but because neither felt like a valid entry to me. Scrimblos didn't conclude, Amy won but didn't enter the bucket. Seeing her deliver made me very happy, regardless.

Jed! Tss... nothing personnel, Viv. Both delivered good action, with rough ends on both sides. Jed from lack of experience, Vivian from lack of polish. Still, I saw first hand the effort Vivian put into it at the final stretch, holy shit. Bravo for that speedpainting.
Lastly, both artists seem aware of each other's backstory and strategy, but the reader is left out a bit, could have been clearer.

Leuca’s entry was very funny, my favorite part was towards the end where Leuca was dressed up in a ridiculous costume and scared Ormand out of his wits since he was drugged out of his noggin. Ormand continues the trend of character growth and even put out a much more complete comic than last round.

Senna’s entry was artistically well done, very creative use of Senna’s (horrific) flesh shaping capabilities. Mike was up against the wall when it came to Senna doing what he can to defeat her. Mike’s entry won out in the end.

Fernando’s entry was on the whole artistically well done as ever. It gets to the point and doesn’t skip a beat. Janny’s fight ended up being more memorable because of the knife fight .gif that won my heart.

However, while both share different accounts of the same story, I think Chuckson pulled through and honored Carolyn’s character in his DOOM mod. Clown Girl’s entry displayed a good fight between the jubilant jester and Boberon. But Boberon’s entry was surprisingly splendid with an animation of their fated duel. Got to hand it to Boberon for the top-notch timing and technique in his short.

Feel really bad for Scrimblo since it couldn’t get completed in time, but Amy ultimately put put a more complete comic. For this reason, AMy got the win.

Abstained from this one because both were similar in tone and again too close to call. One from an artist with a webcomic behind him, the other who is just delving into comics as far as I know. Altogether had the same spirit and energy to win, so I will defer this to the audience to decide.

When I first got this matchup, I had a feeling I was punching above my own weight class in terms of technique. I figured that I really had to “out-Pauline” the artist behind Pauline.

Regardless, Pauline’s entry was humbling. Almost every panel oozes with the impending doom that Pauline feels. The conflict between M4 and Pauline is a bit more visceral and well fought compared to my entry. The entry isn’t all serious, there is comedy here and there and the scene with the gun was hilarious. But the entry doesn’t pull its punches with creativity and Pauline diving into Maiden-4 to defeat her from the inside was one of those choice. What’s more it’s Pauline’s artist did the research and read the comic that Maiden-4 comes from) The flashback scene floored me. While I know the ins and outs of Maiden-4’s history and personality, Pauline comes the closest and most intimate of any depiction in /crab/. While /crab/ is ultimately “apocryphal” in terms of canon this entry I have a great desire to weld the additional bits of M4’s story depicted somehow into the story if possible.

For going the extra mile and for great artwork overall, Pauline gets a vote.

It's set in a vague turn of the century Americana, with fantasy and post modern elements.
There's witches, mad scientists, con men, furries, and vegetectives™. To describe the main plot is kinda hard without spoiling, but it's an ensemble cast that follows the perspective of multiple characters. The main character of one episode could be a side character or even villain in the next. Eventually it'll all coalesce into a single plot though.
Tammy Mato is a main character, but only 1/5th of this comic. There's a lot going on (rather.... ambitious you could say)

I'm not a big fan of boomer shooters but I still had a lot of fun, third level was my favorite too. Enemy placement was weird at times, like the ghosts that floated down off the cliff at the start of level 3, not sure if that was intentional but it was hard to figure out where I was getting hit from until I saw them above me. Might have been a skill issue. Sprites were all awesome, good enemy variety. Music didn't load on the first map, but the songs that did load fit well, and the voicework rocked. Speedruns when?

I am glad we agree, anon. The dialogue gave me such a hard time, first draft was completely on-the-nose, it went through many iterations - at least more than I usually need - until it felt natural enough to me. Had a week of art paralysis because I hated it so much.

Unfortunately, Alaïsa has a completely opposite personality to me, the author, so having her convey the specific message/lesson I need for the story while keeping her in-character is quite a challenge, especially in this round where things needed to be more serious, rather than pure action/comedy.

Changing Chadwick's mind wasn't easy, so I erred on the side of eloquence, to make sure everyone understood Alaïsa's line of thought, but at the very least I managed to imply all the rest, no need for her to talk about her past or how Chadwick is the unpopped kernel, as originally planned.
