What is the highest amount of progress and gains you've ever seen anyone obtain in just 1 or 2 years? Bonus point if the artist in question is older than 25 and has a fulltime job

The first 1-2 years you get the biggest gains because you are starting from nothing. It’s everything after that gets more difficult. Age doesn’t matter. A job doesn’t matter either. You can’t speed run the 1-2 years down to a month. A job helps to pace yourself and build the habit of drawing over time which is a more important skill to acquire. If you are working then you will appreciate your time drawing more and it will be an escape from wage slavery.

The /beg/ can sometimes experience a seemingly huge gains boost when they finally master observational measuring, but it is an easy hill to climb that, while necessary, doesn't transfer to other skills nearly as much as one may wish. See Proko's inability to draw from imagination despite his long mastery of sight size observational drawing and painting.

that anon who drew the gazebo in the meadow scene with a girl and some doves that posted on a recent progress thread
he did amazing progress in 3 years but I remember he said he was able to draw like 8 hours daily so definitely not a full time wagie

Draw 30 minutes a day with intention, aka think where you put the lines, then look back at it once you finish, write down what you fucked up, and keep it in mind the next day. You will get good like this.

This is my 18 month progress doing (essentially) finch's roadmap. I draw for around 45 minutes a day at least. I feel like Bridgman skyrocketed my gains.

/ic/ is basically just /r9k/ for artists. once you "make it" you leave. there's no point if hanging out with a bunch of retarded shitters and no draws that have nothing but negative things to say about drawing once you've gotten good enough to hang out with people that actually enjoy drawing and have high enough quality work to prove it

it's the same with /biz/. anyone who made it off crypto (posters from circa ~2018 or earlier) stopped using it once they became rich. as a result the board is eternally 21 year olds asking where to invest $1000 to become a multi millionaire in 6 months
