If you have a SOVL, that's enough to make it. Now grab that sketchbook and draw, draw and draw, hands, feet, horses, cats, boxes, do the basic shapes, don't do details. Fill the book. Start another.
Don't spend money on any other materials, or books.
Save money for good tech essentials, a good pc, a couple of screens, a good tablet.

No, that rubber will hold you back. Get rid of it and let your art babies grow. Fill the sketchbook, buy another, repeat. if you draw a few pages a day, and draw on the threshold of your skill(difficult, but fun), by book 4 you will be able to look back at book 1 and see good improvement.

You can get your stacks of paper bound at a book binding store or a copy center if paper bondage is your kind of thing. I think it’s like $5 a book or something.

But if you are into metal bindings, use binder clips. They are nice and tight and very restrictive, but aren’t permanent in case you want to take apart your papers and scan something or rearrange your book.

Sorry but you absolutely need an ipad pro 12.9 with either the m1 or m2 chip equipped the the latest Apple Pencil 2 from Apple in order to make it. Anything less is cope.
