For reasons I need to paint a scene for some retard at my classroom (paid me) that involves a retard kicking another retard(shonen fanart).
Now I'm using a non -linear medium and i have trouble coming up with a way to represent movement without using the speedlines i used to use when using ink

I'm thinking of applying Squash-stretch + deformation

But id like to hear your opinion or Resources

>(shonen fanart).
So look up some shonen artwork that involves some action and see how they portray movement. Why would you use squash and stretch? That's a very western thing, even animation wise the japs don't tend to use it.

Try a sequence of faded blue(or any color I suppose) after images.

I remembered something of Saito's I watched recently where he used this 'sonic boom' kind of effect around the character and streaking those to make 'speedlines'.

But a trail of some sort (can be anything: light / suggestion of wind) or clouds of dust being kicked up if they're on the ground could work too. Look at some fighting game effects for ideas. I don't know about the squash and stretch that's not pretty typical of anime, but deformation is fine I think if it's a crazy angle. Good luck OP.

Just smear the paint in a certain direction instead of drawing lines stupid

>speed lines
>motion blur
>glowy flowing lines
that’s about it
