How should you handle gestures when doing pairs?

How should the gesture of the two bodies relate to each other?

When I'm drawing characters together, I"m struggling finding poses to put people in because i feel like when their bodies are interacting with each other, the movement of their bodies just doesn't seem to mesh well together and the forms of the two bodies together just doesn't make an appealing shape.

i struggle with the same thing as well, so take my advice with a grain of salt

Bear with me on this one, it's just a simple project: draw two random objects in your house. Get two objects in your house, preferably simple in shape, like an apple and a detergent bottle, and put them next to each other. Try and see if you can get that. Alternatively, and probably better, get some random pic on pinterest that has a vase and some fruit or something idk. And then try to see if the silhoutte u drew lines up. Yeah this will make ur art stiff if you try to apply this same exact logic to porn art but if you do it it will get your brain to be reminded on what exactly you are doing when combining two figures in the same scene. After you get the hang of this, you could even try, if u wanted, to exaggerate the size of things. Instead of making them exactly accurate, try drawing the taller object taller and the shorter one shorter.

It's what i learned in cartooning and it still applies to poses i think.,

I really believe in the box system, not the DAB (draw a box) challenge, but your own take on the matter like pic related. Build random staff with boxes, try to go far with them in any direction, Just let the boxes guide you when building an scene or anything.
But, doing the box challenge and all those box exercises won't hurt. You have to try everything, it will always help.

i want to become a NSFW artist and start taking commissions, but the issue are:
- i like using outlines a lot as i'm used to pixel art, working with a limited palette and doodling
- i also like how painting/rendering allows me to make things look really soft
which leads to pic related where the boobs look good, but i have no idea how to tackle the nipples, hair, features, details like frills, etc. i don't want everything to look as simple and fleshy as the tits, but i don't wanna ruin them by adding more outline to them. any tips or recommendations for artists who pull off this combination?

Some of BBC Chan's sketches (like picrel) have this softness in them combined with clean hard lines that could give you pointers to help you find your process. I've seen a lot of artwork that has outlines and when it's properly applied it can make the characters pop

But first i need a stronger idea on the shapes, so as i said, bavk to the basics, tomorrow i'll watch a couple of Proko tutorials to get the base right, and then i'll try to go more subtle in the coloring. It's a cultural trend more than a particular meme. A war between western crude and "too realistic" depiction of the human form, and the ideal more "sexy" style from the "east". It's just silly trolling, that it goes out of hand sometimes.
I love sexy style from the east (wink wink), and I've always hated american realistic comic style. But for an artist, it's a terrible way to start, copying a cartoon style and using it as a guide. It took me years and years of bad learning, to realize that I was doing it all wrong. You have to learn from real life to do the "cartoony" version of it, RIGHT.

I think the perspective is really good. The image lacks clarity and focus. Is the focus the feet? The man? The woman's face? The text? The house? Stuff like that.

Yeah I get you, and that was my inital ideal but I ended up going with a more stiff pose as it was more fitting for the pinup, since she would be a maid who's not happy about her job, so she has to look disciplined, rigid, uncomfortable and displeased . The head tilt would make her look too inviting and "sweet" if that makes sense.

I think you just need more experience and a better grasp on fundamentals before your stuff will look really sexy. Outside of needing more practice, to make it more fappable, focus on stuff that you find appealing. I like pretty girls and fat asses so faces and butts were my focus. With your pic idk what you were going for. Are you interested in the idea that she's a giantess or the idea that it's Power? Or both? Macro art really does require knowledge of both anatomy and perspective. The pic has a lot of negative space which makes it appear imbalanced. I do admire the attempts at backgrounds not many smut artists even attempt that. Giantess pics usually tend to have the girl take up a lot of focus like here in these pieces

I'll be honest, I don't like the giantess fetish lol, I don't see the seduction side of it. But I like the perspective challenge of it. How artists force "sick angle creativity" to make the image work. they are the real heroes. You can see how much I struggled in the exercise I just did in pic related, It's so hard to make everything fit in the image. Because realistically there are lot's of things that perspective shouldn't let you see. but I want to show it anyways, like her shoulders, nipples, parts of the arms, her face is so hard, because it should be looking down at thim, but for some reason I don't like that idea. Also shadow is REALLY important to make the whole idea to work, it's not enough with lineart. You're battling with your own ideas of "what is sexy" and what is RIGHT.

I really don’t wanna be one of those “I fixed ur art” fags and I know you probably heard this a million times before, but I feel the line quantity is really dragging down your line sketches. When you’re inking I think the contrast of black lines and white backdrop necessitates a subtler approach. Erasing a number of overemphasized muscle/tendon/joint definitions helps the form look more organic (imo).

I’d also work on the wrists a little bit, a design of toes/fingers that doesn’t look as flat, and I think some gesture would make it look more fluid (i.e. calves tend to have an outward sloping curve).

I tried to do the hand grab as you intended, in my redraw. I think all the other options >>6678327 >>6678333 are better decisions.
I also shortened her legs a whole lot, but that's not wrong, that's your design and it is ok. It just didn't looked right in my redline so I resized her legs.

THEN, there's a whole other issue with the overall design and rendering, we can't barely discern her body shape and silhouette.I don't know where is everything. That's great camo though.
She's hot, but we can not tell. It's all lost in a mess of details.

this would've been a lot harder to repair. I did have a go. I've settled on a compromise with myself. The gun now has a strap. The hands are more holding the strap than the gun. The strap keeps the gun in place despite the pose. It feels like cheating but it is what it is.

Everything looks so stiff and robotic. It looks like there's no motion happening. like you posed 2 dolls together then declared it done.
Also neither looks like they're looking at eachother. Girl on top is staring blankly into the headboard and bottom is looking slightly past the top girl's head. A small nitpick but positioning irises correctly does a lot to read each character's intentions and ground them in the scene to make it sexy.

The face was my biggest issue with the piece. Faces most of the time can make or break art. Practice doing them more often, a 3/4 angle would probably be better to coincide with the rest of the piece. The vials next to her guns seem to be pointing away from her body rather than towards her body. The boobs should be more round, they seem square-like even outside the bra. I will say the outfit is pretty nice and the guns are fine, in fact the best parts of this piece imo are in the lower half of her body. Also

Even with work, I would never spend more than a week on a piece. Constantly putting so much effort on something as simple as a pinup is insanity. Try practicing more often so that your lack of fundamentals don't hinder your workflow.

Looks better. Personally I liked the earlier scenario with the guy dangling, phone is a lot less interesting unless it's from the camera POV. If you are gonna continue with it you should angle her face upwards a bit more or angle the arm better so that she's actually looking at the phone. And no one really holds a phone like that especially when taking a selfie. Four fingers on the back and the thumb on the touchscreen or volume button. Regardless, for a free hand piece this is impressive.
