>Be me
>30 yr old neet shut in
>Feel like my art never improves no matter how much I practice. I hate the sight of my own stuff. Feel like I'm ngmi.
>Start attending figure drawing classes.
>Try my best to actually beat my autism, at least say hello to people and speak in full sentences when asked a question.
>The class models, most of them cute girls from the university, start following my instagram.
>The gallery that puts on the classes is going to have a show for my stuff.

Literally just go outside for a little bit.

This is the solution.
You get back what you've put in. Power through the fear or the resentment you might feel toward others and force yourself. If you keep it real, stay polite and take initiative you'll make it even if your arts shitty.
But d/ic/ks can't even force themselves to draw let alone go out of their way to be friendly to strangers who might not all reciprocate.

If you’re not a misanthropic recluse you’ll never make it as an artist.

This. When you're in spaces for artists, especially this place where people arent afraid to shit on eachother, you quickly forget how low normie standards are.

I'm an absolute beglet and the people around me think I'm some great artist. Its kinda funny.

That doesn't make it better. All my life I've had people telling me that I am a good artist just because they can't draw a stick figure. But compared to the pros I'm nobody.

that didnt solve your problem of being a /beg/ shit, only made you lower your standards.

This and post your work. If you only went into art for attention, then you really didn't have to do all that work in the first place.
Just admit that you're an attentionwhore.

Yes, but the compliments by normies are meaningless, because they don't know what's good or bad. Now, you might say /ic/ is full of crabs who intentionally go out of their way to drag you down, and I'll agree to that. But it doesn't change that normies have no standards for comparison whatsoever and will generally AWOOGA over almost anything put in front of them.

i think most people would die happy if they could produce works with the same level of sophistication and craftsmanship as their idols. even if they remained unknown or had no friends.
a big number is nice. external validation is nice. but how you view your art is all that matters. and often that is done in comparison to works you hold in high regard.

i've seen too many meltdowns of big artists on twitter and private discords for this to not be true

I'm not saying it makes it better I'm just pointing out how the spaces you inhabit greatly change your perception.
>>6646701
Sure, being complimented by great artists feels better but remember, that normies that dont know how to draw, that have lower standards are your main audience. Most people cant draw for shit and they will almost always be the main consumer base. Seeing how normies feel about your art reflect how most people will feel about it.
