I've been worldbuilding a fantasy world the past few months. The world has no humans, only anthropomorphic animals. The way I have it set up is:
>White peoples
Canines and canids
>Asian peoples
Avians
>Middle Eastern peoples
Felines
>Niggers and kikes
Don't exist. Why would I have them in a fantasy world? A fantasy world needs monsters, true, but adding either of these two races would go too far.

Uh, kinda. Style tends to develop naturally out of study, so forcing yourself to have one before it naturally develops will just kind of stunt and/or frustrate you. Also, since you're not getting in practice with drawing bodies, you might find it hard to jump into them.
You've already got a lot going with the headshots. I like the way all the details look and stuff. But you're going to end up looking like a weightlifter who only trained one arm if you keep up; your heads will look great, but the bodies will be lacking.
Be confident! You can absolutely make it work where you're at.

>>6642239
Definitely work on legs/wrinkles in clothing (I assume he's wearing pants), but the big ol' mitts for paws kind of works for the casual style you seem to be going for. Definitely don't put ultra-realistic hands on a cartoon body. Go for cohesion.

The fact of the matter is, you are going to disappoint yourself, over and over. That's just part of life. But with every disappointment, there's also that spark of having learned something new, and improving. As long as you allow yourself to recognize the progress, then the disappointment should only spur more motivation to improve. You just have to allow yourself to take part in the process.
You miss 100% of the shots you don't take, etc.

I love seeing people of all skill levels give advice but this is absolutely the wrong way to approach shading; you should never just use an airbrush when delineating form (you need both soft AND hard edges, an airbrush alone can only give you soft), additionally shadows are rarely black and lit areas are not necessarily "whiter".
The colours of shadows and lit areas depend on the local colour (e.g. an apple's local colour being many different shades of red) combined with the ambient colour of light around it (e.g. blue light from the sky bouncing off of the surroundings).

A good shortcut for finding a shadow colour is to just take the local colour, swivel it a little towards the ambient light colour (usually blue for outdoor scenes), and desaturate a little. You don't need to change the hue that much either - even a slightly desaturated red can look convincingly blue if surrounded by more brilliant reds.

I can't help but think in a few days I'll think this looks blaringly bad, or i'll keep adjusting it until it doesn't look good to me anymore, but right now i'm liking this shape

basically using the muzzle bridge (between the eyes, not the total width) width as a starting point, the outer cheek bones are each a bit more than 1.2 muzzle widths. Then the cheek bone being that same 1.2 muzzle widths back.

Muzzle length also approx 1:1 with that, landing the muzzle about the length of half of the depth of the skull sphere shape

It predates Five Nights at Freddy's by exactly 10 years.

In answer to your question, the concept of the image is more-or-less as you see it. Children being raised by automatons in the shape of stuffed animals in a kind of human terrarium being observed by some kind of alien or cybernetic creatures.

As for why? It was just a sci-fi horror concept for school, but my ineptitude and inexperience with digital art pushed it into the realm of uncanny valley and made it far more disturbing than even I intended.

I kind of want to do a redraw of this now. It's a very soulful and inspiring piece.
The bear face especially, awakes something very disturbing in me. His tranquil face, undisturbed by any kind of living emotions make it look like some kind of primitive divine representation, akin to orthodox icons or archaic greek statues. The lighting makes it look like it's glowing from an unearthly aura too, contrasting with the darkness of the nightmarish creatures observing from above.
Its round, inaimate eyes contrast sharply with his lively posture, playing with a baby. Yet instead of looking at the baby like any living creature would do, it stares at us, indifferent. What does it want from us?

The composition is good too, with the older kid dressed as a maid pointing to the bear, which is in turn staring right at us. Honestly anon, you might want to redraw this with your evolved skills, that would make a nice "draw it again" progress picture too.

Is there any SFW socials where I can follow you ? I can't stand furry porn.

Drawing more is self-explanatory. The more you hone a skill, the better you are.

imo if you just suck at everything you may also consider to simply not study "Hard" fondamentals like shapes, volumes and perspective and just draw flat stuff focused on more intuitive parts of drawing, like color, composition, linework, actual ideas for the image...
For example, the drawing you made is pretty funny and has its vibe.

If you are not planning to become really good at drawing, i think it's actually detrimental to study fundies, at least for the first year or so, because badly applied fundamentals are way uglier than a true and honest 0 skill drawing.

Also keep in mind that poorly made drawings are inherently funnier.

Assorted tips:
>Simplified art styles are actually le good for beginners. There's nothing wrong with sticking cartoony eyes on your characters (Like what the koboldCHAD is doing ITT) if you can't draw appealing faces it.
>Sycra's anatomy model is good enough for referencing while you are learning. Morpho's anatomy or Figure Drawing for All it's Worth is also good if you're not ready for bridgeman.
>Nobody starts off designing epic 10/10 OCs after just picking up a pencil. Just experiment, not every piece needs to be part of some artist extended universe.
>Don't work on the same piece for too long while you're learning. Try to always keep moving forward. If you notice glaring mistakes, just learn from them in future pieces.
>Do Iterative practice. pick a part of the body and draw it 5-10 times.

OG kobolds are lil hairy gremlins from mythological folklore and were common low tier D&D enemy fodder

When D&D came to Japan, a mistranslation called kobolds furry instead of hairy so they were interpreted as dog people. To this day you can see dog kobolds in various Japanese fantasy manga and anime.

In D&D 3.5 kobolds were retconned into lil lizard folk who are genetically coded to serve and worship dragons, abd these kind have become the most common in thr fandom.

they appeared shortly after DnD 3.5E. Before that, kobolds were weird impish things that had some aspects of lizards and dogs, in the "Mishmash fantasy creature" way. In japan kobolds have been exclusively canine since 1E's first translation mentioned they were doglike.

Since 3.5E, around 2003, kobolds in the west have been lizards, and since they were made an optional race sometime in the 2010s people have been drawing them increasingly cutesy, alongside phenomenon like cutebolds, which stem from Dwarf Fortress.

a year or so ago i did a Memento Mori style painting, where a cartoon animal character was carrying a human skull. this year I though I'd do a similar drawing as a bit of a joke... I call it a Memento Puppy, latin for "remember that you are a good boy". here is my progress on it so far, though i'm having trouble rendering out the arm and the character's gut and breast. the collar is a bit of an unfocused mess as well.
it's sort of based on the portrait work of Frans Hals (who did a bunch of memento moris) mixed with Rembrandt's style of lighting and costuming. thematically it's based on the pup play fetish community, with a pup hood replacing the skull that would typically be included in a memento mori. any critique is very appreciated
