This whole deal with posting AI-generated output online is child's play. Lazy fucks are doing it because it's kinda fun for a few weeks. That's not what AI is.
The true future of AI is using this tech in your own drawing. With a few clicks, you can generate a decent basic sketch to refer to or even straight up copy if it's good enough, tweaking colors, expressions, and even styles. Back in the day, you had to spend hours looking shit up on Google Images, hoping to find anything that could spark your imagination or be a good ref, but this is far superior, even though the technology is still in its infancy.
AI will not replace professionals, because it can't read minds and perfectly replicate whatever you want. But it can be a massive help. AI output is not art by itself, but it can be used as the base for great art, superior to any other.

Do you not realize the whole point of these generators is to skip the whole process of intentionally drawing and creating something that you want. It's automation with a little editing if you care at the very end. When you say it can be a massive help, it quite literally does everything for you while producing something only close enough than if you were to intentionally draw something yourself.

The only people benefitting this are companies who need to pump out art assets in a fast and cheaper way. Other artists who use social media and the like aren't able to utilize this because why the fuck would any of the existing people who actually care enough to commission or like an artist want the work of an image generator. Seriously, why do you think people go to lengths to hide it if they can?

It's more likely AI art will be just another category like photography or painting with a few overlaps here and there. There is so much negative stigma attached to AI art because of the ethical issues and the fact that there's so many prompters generating millions of images everyday and posting it up without doing anything to it oversaturating the shit out it all.
