How do you know that I've ever made this assertion? I'm not even straight. The vast majority of male leads in mainstream films are quite good looking and masculine. I don't know how you're defining "average" appearance. The average man is short, fat, nearsighted and balding. If you're physically fit and taller than 6' you're already better off than the great majority of men in the United States.
